MemberI use Yahoo for my main and MSN for backup and MIRC for other things. I don’t recommend using MIRC unless you know what you are doing. But it is pretty powerful if you know what you are doing.

MemberDo not use any window integrated Firewalls, they suck. I agree with shifter check and see if you have a firewall, Hopefully it is a software based firewall, and disable it. then check to see if you are able to use your messenger. If that doesn’t work check your Internet Options and set them all to default, if they are not already set to default. If they were set to default I will need more info. If they were not set to default try your messenger now. Then if you don’t have a firewall I recommed getting one like pc-cillins or my favorite Zone alarm. Your connection should not have anything to do with your messenger not working since you have a direct connection through a modem. Some add blockers may have some affect but also doubtfull that has anything to do with any messenger.

MemberThis sounds similar to a problem I was having recently. I uninstalled the yahoo I had and reinstalled an earlier version and updated it and all the problems went away. I had version 5.6 and put 5.5 on and then updated. Go here to find all versions plus other neat stuff.

MemberI found my own way to fix it. I uninstalled the new version 5.6.??? and loaded 5.5.??? and I had the same problem but I went ahead and loaded the update when it asked and it works now. Atleast so far it does. Thanks anyway. I may be back though.
