Now I gotta know you better before I will accept a file and then only a pic (JPG), if its too small or too large I will reject it and ask for a URL that has the file. This request often sorts out the genuine from the attempts to deliver a trojan.
Ofcourse, its assumed you have up to date anti virus software checking each file download, otherwise you have no right to complain if you are infected by what you have accepted.
Have you ever heard of stenographying? It where a file is hidden within the picture, like a digital watermark. The file could be a virus, so i would still be carful, even if using stenography to infect someone with a virus is still a relativly new consept.
