MemberThat’s really weird because I have a friend who always appears offline and she’ll IM me out of the blue…She’s not at all computer saavy so I fugured it would be easy to do, but obviously not. I just downloaded everything (MSN, AIM, Yahoo) separately so I could do that too, but now I’m thinking I should’ve stuck with Trillian.

Member5.5 does allow you to appear offline, its somewhat tricky to do.. It has to do with the little “eye” next to your buddy list name..and you have to have screennames linked inorder to click it.
An easy way to appear offline is get middle_man from here http://middleman.krunchsoftware.com/ and then type /ghost in any IM window and you will appear offline, just type /unghost or just sign on again to appear online again.

MemberIf anyone remembers the program Methodus, at http://www.methodus2000.com mainly used for AOL but also AIM, they had a ghosting option in which you sent a message to the screen name $IM_OFFscreennamehere, with the screenname of who you want to ghost in that spot, not your own, and the message should say ignore[/b]. To reverse it goes to $IM_ONscreennamehere, and it says unignore[/b]. This only works for individual ghosts, but you can talk to the person you ghost, even while not showing up on their buddy list. I don’t think that it reverses automatically, so you have to undo it yourself.
