Hey, don’t diss old-school Windows 3.1. There’s only one computer(out of the four) in my house that can play almost all DOS games, and that’s the old one sitting in my basement. It is da bomb, dude… it’s like, a gameboy, it’s got tons of old-school games like Wolfenstein 3D, CornCob, Clyde, Duke Nukem, and some other awesome ones.
I have heard tons of bad things about Windows ME, but since I haven’t tried it, I’ll take your guyses word for it.
Anyway, Windows operating systems are always getting better and better, and I’ll have to say that Windows XP is certainly the best. The Explorer is da bomb, and I think the Fisher Price look is sweet.
Umm… sorry about da ghetto talk. 😮
and plus if there wasnt a 3.1 there would be nothing for the newer versions to be better than.

Member… I just voted Windows XP, and then one of my programs crashed.:(
Anyways, I like Windows XP best. I’ve used 95, 98, ME, and currently XP. I personally prefer the style of XP to the other ones. It also seems slightly easier to use for people who are computer-illiterate. I’m sure there are other things I like about it, but the first day of school can do stuff to you..

MemberI’ve only used 95, 98 and xp. I thought 98 was pretty good. XP is good too and thats what I use now. Never used 2000, but if its just a toned down version of xp like I hear, I think I’d like it.

Yes well this poll is for “Best Windows Version.” I agree Linux systems are better than Microsoft solutions, however that is not the topic for discussion.

Memberdefinitely 3.1, easy to use, programs are easy to find, and it has the best look
sorry, I just wanted to say that. I can imagine some of your looks. definitely XP. I could never go back to the classic windows look now. And the startup looks good, and all programs run on it. And who voted for ME, anyways?

How can you say an unstable ALPHA Operating System (That was rebuilt completely recently) is BETTER than a 3 year old rock-solid OS?

Just to clarify…Longhorn does NOT come out until at least 2005 Beta, and 2006 Final release.

ParticipantI have xp, but I dont have the SP2 yet, when I get it, maybe i’ll vote for it. but for now, I choose windows 98 cause I think they are more reliable and crash less times than the other versions.
Personal expirience of course.November 5, 2004 at 4:10 am #38498David

Personal expirience of course. What exactly did you do that made Windows XP less stable than a Windows 98 machine? I have experienced MUCH more stability on XP (Or 2000 or NT4 for that matter) than I have ever had on Win9X.

ParticipantWell, mostly about internet related stuff. More spywares, more “stuck” moments and such. If u read an older topic of mine “taskbar problem”, its happened now that I have xp and it didnt before with 98.

Participantwell, for me XP rocks! I had my share of bad experiences with the Mistaken Edition (WinME) sort to speak of. Second to XP I would probably prefer win98 SE. than any other. This is just my opinion though. aight?!

MemberIt’s hard to say, I’ve had very stable systems with all the OS’s listed (yes this include Windows ME.. I was able to build a system which ran Win ME perfectly (as far as windows can be perfect that is))
Although I would probably pick XP or 2000, it all depends on what you are using it for. I currently use an XP system primarily and it never crashes… well sometimes does but I know exactly what I did to cause it to crash, so it never just crashes randomly..November 8, 2004 at 8:25 am #38525Pank
