April 17, 2003 at 5:59 am #63393rustedtightMemberPost a list of the problems here and we can check them out.
Without this list it is assumed there are NO problems.April 17, 2003 at 11:34 am #63399tomsbbbMemberrustedtight

.ahahah os fIActually if your serious WOOO HOOO Im glad its working perfectly for you! But I have watched your post Louis and I feel you are very imformative on the Yahoo! Forum and have thought to myself “this gal *or guy* is someone I will be talking to Jeff about in the future to be a Moderator”. In saying that Im sure you will agree (as I feel you are very logical in thoughts) not every build works as good or in the same way for every persons PC! Some people had no problem with older builds that alot of people had major problems with. Our wonderful Yahoo! is demented, lol we have determined that way back here on the BBB. All I was poking at in my post was that Yahoo! sending back a standard “re” letter of course its gonna say thier product is perfect and bug free etc etc.
April 21, 2003 at 5:52 pm #63405LouisSheffieldMemberT’was entirely levity – just to have you crack a smile (as though the new build caused the BW text)
I am deeply endebted to this forum – I scoured the planet for 2 weeks
over the “Server Busy” webcam issue (yep … lower-case wins). This forum SINGULARLY posited theories and suggested experiments, and the issue was kept ontrack by moderators and novices alike.
Gotta love it 😉
April 22, 2003 at 1:40 am #63395snugleupagainstMemberLouis,
Thats what I was thinking you were doing, BUT ya never know on here. *winks*
Good time to say….Its the Members like YOU who make this site, Not Us Mods. We try to sit back and see if the other members can help others and not Us just jump in running to everyones resque.April 22, 2003 at 7:17 am #63404LouisSheffieldMemberSourceOfAll(Jon)Snuggles … (or any wayward Moderator)
This has been enchanting, and I may have made you laugh, but it has inappropriately wandered off-topic.
Please (respectfully) delete posts since (and including) my text-inversion program, and lock. I honestly desire neither attention nor glory.Thank you greatly … Louie

We just made the point that yeah any build will have its bugs for some! That its very doubtful there will be a biuld that works perfectly for all.
And as for me saying…Quote:quote:Its the Members like YOU who make this site, Not Us Mods.I know Jeff will agree!
April 24, 2003 at 12:06 am #63410bigcuyMemberI have a YIM 5.5 “bug” to report. Previous versions of YIM let me switch between Logitech Webcam and my ATI-All-In-Wonder captured Handicam. The latest build broke that functionality. I have spent a good hunk of time trouble shooting the issue. Multiple OS versions (Win98, Win2k), multiple ATI driver versions, multiple ATI control panel versions.
I’ve really worked the issue to the bone. What I ended up with was this. If I uninstall YIM and reinstall YIM I can get the Handicam to work with one of my profiles. I save that profiles .WCP file (it’s in the messenger folder) and make a copy of it for the profile I want to use. I then will fire up that profile and the ATI/Handicam capture will stream. If I close out of the profile it may or may not fire back up again and there is no possibility of switching to the Logitech and back to the ATI/Handicam. If it gags, I grab the copy and rename and launch.
If there is another “fix” for this I’d be interested in trying it but so far this is the only thing that “worked”. YAHOO! suggests a VFW registry tweak… not! Didn’t help but I think it is related to the video for windows functions. I used to be able to select MIcrosoft WDM Image Capture as a device in YIM but no longer and it would allow me to select any video source available to stream… now it’s gone. Anyone else see this type of behavior with YIM 5.5?

April 24, 2003 at 12:47 am #63403LouisSheffieldMemberDo you have both choices under
Login … Preferences … Webcam … Camera Settings > Capture Source?
April 24, 2003 at 2:09 am #63402LouisSheffieldMemberAlso (forgot to ask) … are you running build 1254??
