i downloaded deadAIM and it tells me that the serial number has been used too many times and that I need to reset it
how do I do thatMay 28, 2004 at 3:03 pm #78936Jeff HesterKeymasterContact the good folks at jdennis.net (they make DeadAIM). They’ll fix you up. Unless of course you downloaded an ILLEGAL copy of DeadAIM, in which case you are outta luck.
We do not support pirating or cracking software here, so don’t even ask.
May 28, 2004 at 5:42 pm #78956TropicalMemberJDennis works for AOL now. So if they catch you cracking their software. AOL is gunna sue you.. not JDennis.
May 28, 2004 at 6:00 pm #78946Wet Dog500MemberIt’s still Jdennis’s software and his company so AOL has no ground to sue because they have no legal ownership of the company or software.
If I were Jdennis’s lawer I would suggest he didn’t sue illigal users because he would not be able to make any money, the cost of the case and the lawer would be more than he would get from the person even if he did win.May 28, 2004 at 7:54 pm #78955TropicalMemberJDennis sold AOL the software but asked them to keep the JDennis DeadAIM company name. Simple as that.
May 28, 2004 at 7:55 pm #78943LandslideMemberOr… they just work with AOL now. Meaning… they are affilaties. AOL does not own JDennis or DeadAIM
May 28, 2004 at 8:16 pm #78952f0rbezMemberExactly wetdog. JDennis (or even AOL) would have to be an idiot to attempt to sue people over pirated software that is only worth 5 dollars. Even large companies dont sue people that often unless its a case where there is tens of thousands of dollars worth of pirated software. The JDennis company isnt owned by AOL either. JDennis may be working with AOL but thats the extent of their relationship so far, unless you have proof of otherwise? Anyway, contact JDennis about that sal and don’t fear that AOL will sue you.

And you know this how? Are you just guessing? Ok see, if AOL owned the software they wouldn’t keep the site up. They would not continue providing software that removes their ad’s.
May 28, 2004 at 9:22 pm #78953TropicalMemberDeadAIM belongs to AOL.. Why do you think JDennis is so rich 🙂
May 28, 2004 at 10:01 pm #78939Someguy03MemberReally. How do you know?
May 28, 2004 at 10:05 pm #78954TropicalMemberOh I remember seeing it on the AIM Today window once. The headline stuck with me forever “Like DeadAIM? Well, we got it! Your favorite instant messaging service has brought it to life even more!”
May 29, 2004 at 1:58 am #78951f0rbezMemberSorry, thats not gonna do… lol
May 29, 2004 at 3:22 am #78938FanaticMemberNone of this B.S. about JDennis and who owns what matters. The important thing is pirating software is illegal. You won’t get serial numbers here. Ask and you’ll be invited to leave.
May 29, 2004 at 4:21 am #78945ys8er2323MemberIf they were to sue, they should sue those sites that give you the dead aim and include the patch/crack because many people have gotten it from them and they are the source.
-jus my lil opinion.
May 29, 2004 at 6:23 am #78950f0rbezMemberCant we have a simple discussion about who owns JDennis? Nothing wrong with that.
