Just wanting to ask what the favorite brand of men’s cologne among both guys and girls. I ask this because I want to buy something new but I’m pretty lost. I don’t want to look like a tool figuring out what I want in the store without any guidance, so I’m going to ask the wonderful people here.
I haven’t worn anything besides cheap body deodorant sprays for the past year, and before these I wore Tommy Hilfiger.
I was thinking maybe Paris Hilton’s stuff, but I dunno..
Someone help out? π
January 20, 2006 at 12:33 am #136720AwesomeSauceParticipantAxe. That’s what I almost always use, but I don’t really know of any others.. it might also be a bit expensive to some people, but not too bad. I also have this stuff for men by “Jordache”, or at least that’s what it says. It’s a lot stronger, so you only need to press the button once or twice. With Axe, it’s not quite as strong so you have to hold down the release for a longer time (the bottles that Axe come in work like spray paint cans). Anyway, that’s what I use.
January 20, 2006 at 1:12 am #136717TigerbladeParticipantNo. Don’t go with Axe. Sorry Dan… not Axe. I’ve never smelled a can of Axe that I liked.
Personally, I like DV8 from Anchor Blue, but I dont think they’re around anymore. The other two brands I’ve personally had and like are “Very Sexy for Him” from Victoria’s Secret, and Kenneth Cole Black. Otherwise, I’ve heard really good things about Ralph Lauren’s Polo. just a few options to look into.
i’d recommend against Paris Hilton’s stuff, same for Britney Spears, and such.

I’m serious, I think it smells like crap, but my girlfriend likes the smell, however I still don’t buy it just because from all the other guys spraying it in gym I think I get a nice covering :p

I even asked around my friends before posting this to get their direct reactions… survey says, no.
January 20, 2006 at 9:14 pm #136733MrEggsaladParticipantOh wow, well I guess “whatever burps your turtle”. Here I think Axe is what most people like (icky) so I gotta just deal with it. I guess we are the city of Axe, sadly…
January 20, 2006 at 9:48 pm #136721AwesomeSauceParticipantYeah, Axe is what me and my friends use. But it’s not like me and all of my friends that like Axe represent the general public.. Different people like different things, so whatever floats your boat. π
January 21, 2006 at 12:40 am #136709detn8rParticipantOK π
I’ve been using “cheap body deodorant sprays for the last year” which is Axe. I haven’t actually used this brand, but I’ve used Tag and some crap from Adidas (and others) but I don’t like it. It’s cheap, and it’s not cologne.
I’ll look into those stated above by tigerblade although I’d like some more opinions other than axe? :p
January 23, 2006 at 3:10 am #136725gossipingraeMemberAqua di Gio by Georgio Armani is nice. Also, Eternity for Men by Calvin Klein. Polo Blue, Polo Black, and Polo Sport by Ralph Lauren is good, like Tom said. Drakkar is an oldie but a goodie, the men in my family wear it, so it might not be as “hip” or “in” as some of the stuff now. Kenneth Cole Black is a good one too. Curve for Men smells good, but everyone uses that stuff. I know someone who wears Cool Water for Men by Davidoff. I don’t really like it, but you might.
Oh yeah, Green Jeans by Versace is nice. America by Perry Ellis smells sooooo good.
Good luck. Tell us what you end up getting.
January 23, 2006 at 2:38 pm #136734MrOatsMemberI like YOU “U” By “Parfum De Coeus”. Not too Cheap, or expensive. π It’s also a “uni-sex brand”. (Can be used by Men and Women, but “U” works better on men, in my opinion.
January 23, 2006 at 4:32 pm #136710detn8rParticipantgossipingrae, would you allow your boyfriend to wear anything by Georgio Armani? I don’t think I’m into smelling like sophisticated 45-year old if you know what I mean :p
Anyway, I’ve been looking into this website maybe someone can pull some good ideas from it?
http://kingersons.com/shop/search.asp?stS=&selectcategory=28&1=Go&CatalogVar=False&kfg=fromsearch
I’ll look into them all but I don’t know.. so many choices π
gossipingrae could you rate your choices on a scale of your favorites to your least? That would help π
January 23, 2006 at 4:45 pm #136714OreoMemberI know PLENTY of guys WELL under 45 who wear Armani. I like it…in fact I would have suggested the same…because it smells SOOO good! π
January 23, 2006 at 5:12 pm #136708Jeff HesterKeymasterI personally love L’Eau D’Issey cologne by Issey Miyake. It has a great clean smell to it. I really love it, and a lot of girls I’ve hugged have always gone “Mmm” after. π I use it. Then of course sometimes I use Calvin Klein’s “Eternity” but not often. I don’t want to smell like everyone else! Sometimes I also wear Old Spice Red Zone body spray and have gotten some mmm’s with that as well. *hehe*
For a list of a bunch of colognes you can go to FragranceNet
They really need to invent scratch and sniff internet…hah.
January 23, 2006 at 5:45 pm #136730princeGParticipantHugo Boss is the one for me but I don’t say no to a Paco Rabanne Ultraviolet as well.
