You know I almost bought the L’Eau D’Issey on the plane back to Dublin from Barcelona (duty free you know!)for my husband (and the women’s version for me.) There’s something about that scent. But alas, I didn’t…and now I’m kicking myself. I don’t know how I could have passed up that opportunity. So let me amend….this one or Armani…girls will be flocking to you!

I don’t think I’m into smelling like sophisticated 45-year old if you know what I mean :pactually, the guy i’m seeing wears armani. he’s 21 π it’s alright if you don’t like it.
detn8r wrote:gossipingrae could you rate your choices on a scale of your favorites to your least? That would help πsure. here goes:
1. Eternity for Men (Calvin Klein) *best
2. Aqua di Gio (Georgio Armani)
3. Polo Sport (Ralph Lauren)
4. Black (Kenneth Cole)
5. Polo Blue (Ralph Lauren)
6. America (Perry Ellis)
7. Curve for Men
8. Polo Black (Ralph Lauren)
9. Cool Water (Davidoff)
10. Green Jeans (Versace)
11. Drakkar *least favorite, but still a good choice if you want a classicSome others I forgot to list that I like…Happy for Men by Clinique, Tommy by Tommy Hilfiger (EVERYONE has this stuff, i’m kinda sick of it, but it is nice), and like George said, Hugo Boss.

If anything, I go with diluted essential oils, like sandlewood and chamomile, that and they have properties of their own that help you out. But then again, I’m a hippy and most cologne gives me a headache.
*laughs* I love it when men rub ferrets all over their bodies so they get that great musky/woodchips smell… *cackling, joke, get it?*
*ropes herself off in a corner with a sign “Please Do Not Feed the Hippy”*
January 24, 2006 at 5:16 pm #136723LucifinaMemberum, yea, not being a perfumey person b/c of my allergies I don’t really like any of the above. However, I do happen to LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEEE Aramis. It’s not as strong as the others…and…well, makes my knees go weak:o
January 24, 2006 at 8:13 pm #136729DrBroccoliParticipantWell my personal everyday wear is Nautica’s Latitude Longitude, but occasioanlly I wear Calvin Klein’s Crave. Both are arounde $50-60 bucks at the mall, I just linked to the website for visual pleasure.
I personally do not like, but a lot of the girl are gogling over Hollister’s Jake, but I don’t think it’s all that spectacular and I think it’s a way for main stream prep stores to make money, so they slack off a bit in the quality department.
My rule of thumb, if it’s got a celebrity’s name on it, it’s for market reasons, and usually, but not always they are not the greatest smelling scents. That is just how I shop, but I think your best to just go to the department store, ask for the jar of coffee beans and start smelling until you find one you like, after all you’re wearing it all day, and if you get one to please other people, then you’ll suffer.
February 5, 2006 at 11:01 pm #136711detn8rParticipantWell.. you got some sexy taste gossipingrae π
I picked up a bottle of Acqua Di Gio this afternoon and I gotta say…. it’s pretty hot π
Anyway thanks all for helping π
February 6, 2006 at 8:39 pm #136727gossipingraeMembermy pleasure. enjoy it.
February 6, 2006 at 8:47 pm #136722SpikeMemberI don’t wear stuff daily…usually just deodorant. The occasional spray of Axe is good (Essence), but if you want strictly cologne, I’d go with Moves by Adidas or A87 from Aeropostale. Both were gifts…I don’t shop for my own cologne, I’m not big on fragrances, either.
Edit: Blech, didn’t see the second page. Glad you found something, nater. π
February 7, 2006 at 12:30 am #136735BShink21MemberI like Eternity for Men by Kalvin Klein.
February 11, 2006 at 5:04 am #136716EEDOKMemberI’d prefer water from the tap rather than the toilet.
That’s just my preference.October 15, 2006 at 6:51 pm #136712detn8rParticipantI went back today to test out some new smells, and I gotta say that I’m really enjoying Versace Man. I got a sample and I almost want to jump all over my self because it smells go great π
October 16, 2006 at 11:17 am #136736PolarBearNPRParticipantUmmmm – no one has jumped on det’s comment? Well, maybe we can let it slide . . . just this once. π
October 16, 2006 at 3:44 pm #136737mfenechMemberCan’t believe someone suggested Aramis. That’s what all the Iranians wore (re. showered with) where I went to college.
A tip: Want to set yourself apart from the AdG/Curve crowd? Want something to drive the women nuts? Get Hanae Mori por homme, Rochas Man, or Angel Men. The secret/magic ingredient: Chocolate. Use very lightly, especially the Angel. Works any time of month, not just at ‘that time’. π

Just someONE? I believe there was two or three that suggested it, and not only here, but that specific brand is the number one seller in the US.
Also, may I ask what your intentions were in explaining that Iranian’s used it as well?
And is your “chocolate scents” coming from the nose of a man or woman? You have got to be KIDDING me if you expect me, no wait.. ANYONE to wear Angel. That is the most discusting scent ever made into a cologne. And according to rep. I was speaking with about it, to her, it smells like Koolaid powder. And woman who thinks that is sexy has serious issues. Any of the other chocolate scents smell really cheap, as if you literally just finished eating a chocolate bar and smeared it onto your skin. Not my choice, thanks.
Anyways, I bought Versace Man with VERY high intentions in buying Hugo Boss as well. π
