Memberto answer all the questions and gaps in this fourm (and also have some issues of my own)…
1. creating another account doesn’t work
2. it isn’t a server problem with microsoft
3. the settings on the messanger are right.
4. it doesn’t clear up in a day or 2.those are just some that I could remember in this thread. I am still getting the problem and don’t really want to take the easy way out on reformatting my hard drive. I am wanting to figure this problem out for futher references.
None of the system settings on the computer I am on have changed. I had 6.1 and it stopped working. it gave me the firewall message. I did some looking around, and nothing helped so I uninstalled it and installed the latest version 6.2. that one gives me the same message as the guy above. (the original poster)
I’m on a work system and the people around me can sign on, (except for one) but I can’t. it gives me the same error message. when I let the messanger check the system for problems, it said no problems found. does anyone have any tips on how to fix this problem?

ParticipantI am having the same problems connecting to MSN. I have MSN 6.2 and Win98. I have changed all connecting formats, do not have a fire wall. I suspect this has to do with a virus.
I do not want to format C, so if anyone has solved this problem please provide some help
