the site is working properly… it is my own site where I uploaded this stuff… Geocities gives 3Gb bandwidth every month… even if I use up all my 15Mb free space… their isnt any possibility tht the whole bandwidth will be expired… maybe u missed it as the file is less than 4Kb…

Thanks…I think that’s what I’ve been doing. I clicked on it and got the whole thing “We’re sorry this page is currently not available for viewing” message. I’ll try the suggestions and hopfully work this out. Thanks everyone for your help. 😀

well absolutely ri8 shifter… this is just bcos the thing is a software and meant to be downloaded and not viewed… I hope it clears ur problem Oreo.. 🙂

i went to go do the regedit as soon as i noticed something was wrong but the computer administrater (who is me) disabled the task manager and regedit? now what?

well did u try anti_mps proggy??? try tht.. if MPS is in ur comp it will remove it… o/w use a virus scanner

I d-loaded Magic Ps just to test it basically, and now I cant get rid of the darn thing, I delted it from my C:/Windows folder And used Task MAnager to kill the process before that, every time I restart Windows it is still there! I am good with computers but this has got me baffled, I also tried the ANTI Magic PS tool and it says its not installed though I know it is!

well hi… did u try the anti_Mps without killing the process? also wht about the longer process of using some spy remover?

OK I got it all figured out! I had Magic PS version 1.5 which the anti Magic PS tool will NOT work on. It worked on all previous versions except the 1.5. I had Norton Anti Virus Installed, and on AUTO-PROTECT of course but it didnt dtect it al all……..pretty crappy I might add. Anyways I went to http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm for the Panda online virus scan and guess what……….it detected and removed that junk! So I took Norton crap completely off and went to Panda Titanium 2004, I like it so far and the fact that it removed that virus is A+ in my book!:) Also CoolGuy, I tried everything before hand but with that newest version of Magic PS it just dont work. I hope this helps someone else who has been infected with the NEW MagicPS v1.5. But in addition all og coolguys instructions WILL work on all previous versions if that crap………

After uninstalling Yahoo Messenger, then running Spy Sweeper, then running Anti MagicPS
(not installed response) the task manager is still disabled by the “administrator”. How do you regain administrative control and correct this?

Currently using Windows XP version 2002 Home Edition….

Deadman just go the url mentioned above and it will remove the trojan, if you havent regained control of task manager its obviously still there somewhere;)Let me know how it goes!

Once your remove the Magic PS from your computer, should the taskmanager and regedit options return to normal as well? Or is there additional steps required to reset these?

Actually once the regestry is locked you have to manually unlock it on XP and 2000 systems. Heres the instructions on how to do just that.

Click Start
Click Run
Enter gpedit.msc in the Open box and click OK
In the Group Policy settings window
Select User Configuration
Select Administrative Templates
Select System
Select Ctrl+Alt+Delete options
Select Remove Task Manager
Double-click the Remove Task Manager option (by double clicking you are enabling the Task Manager)
Double Click Disable Registry editing tools and set it to not configured or disabled (enabled locks the registry from being edited).

I dont understand it , I cant get that password stealer out, ive seen the name it goes to and it does say magic ps also, the anti magic didnt work, im running panda right now, nothing is coming up, ran spysweeper got rid of anything in there and did the regedit thing and deleted stuff out of there, I found the names I was looking for there and deleted them, the thing is still coming up when I go on messenger, I uninstalled messenger and reinstalled
