Membermy aim client version 5.5.3595 always freezes after verifying the username and password and sticks on “starting services”. I installed earlier versions, uninstalled and reinstalled, and changed by password. I recently got optonline and a wireless g linksys router, but the other computers can sign on to aim. I autoconfigured and it said I could reach the aim servers. HELP

MemberDo you have any firewall or web filters? At school I tried to access AIM through both and was also frozen at starting services.

Memberno firewall, no nothing. Even windows firewall is disabled. The stranger thing is is that other screen names do not stall aim, only mine.
weird

Memberid run your virus scanner just incase. it may be a trojan or something loading and slowing aim down. your pc is at least decently fast right?

MemberVirus scanner: nothing…spyware and adware: nothing……p4 2.6 ghz laptop, DVD-R+R-RW+RW, 16.1 UXGA LCD, 128 mb radeion 9000, 512mb ram, 60 GB 7200 rpm HDD, wireless g lan integrated. Its FFFAAAASSssst. lol. I did try to foward the AIM port range to my computer, and I think that might work. I have to wait an hour because i’ve reached the sign on limit, i’ll let you know
