It has come to my attention that you can add a person to your buddie list thru profiles without their permission. What I want to know is how do I find out who has me on their buddy list so I can remove myself. Personally I have a stalker I would like to not know when im on, or at least make it difficult. Is there a site where you can see who has you on their list? If not is there a way to get yahoo to make one or to include notify when added from a profile? Any ideas?
May 25, 2003 at 10:30 pm #62394OreoMemberA few of us have been wondering the same thing in some of the other posts from a littlw while ago. So far there is no way that anyone has known to do this. All you can do is wait until someone messages you; then remove yourself from the buddylist (go to http://www.backdoors.to./yahoo There is a thing called Deny a Buddy there that Snuggle told me about long ago. It works great. The only thing is that sometimes you have to remove and remove and remove… b/c the guys who add you keep adding after you remove them. That’s the only way I know; if anyone else knows another way PLEASE share it!

IF someone has you on their list, there is a good chance they will message you. Then you’ll know and then you can go to backdoor and take your ID off their list. Of course if they really wanted you on the list, chances are they will add you again, so you can try ignore.

May 26, 2003 at 1:44 pm #62393OreoMemberawren.. that’s a hilarious…..yet ingenious idea. It certainly DOES bring people out of the woodwork…. and it makes your REAL friends PM you and ask if you’ve lost your mind!

When one use the deny a buddy feature, does it allow other parties affected know that they’re being removed on both lists?

“The command to see who’s friends list you are on, is an old Ichat command. The way the servers are set up now, it is impossible to see that. It is not possible anymore on yahoo. That is why you ACCEPT AND ADD when you get a request to add to friends list.”suggestion to see ? put a status message up that says. pm me or ill delete you off my list! you will be suprised at the folks who message you!

However, I do like that suggestion about the status message…. so long as the other people don’t know that we can’t tell we are on their lists…. 😉 thanks for keeping us in touch with Yahoo! You are our quickest link to them it would seem!! I, for one (and I bet not only) really appreciate it! 🙂

Unless you use the message option, which presumably sends them a message to let the know. I’ve never sent one, since more often than not it will antagonise them into re-adding you.
May 27, 2003 at 3:05 pm #62401NettiMemberAnother suggestion is to get a program, like Ytunnel, which will deny any and all PM’s, cam invites, or voice invites, from people who are not on YOUR buddy list.
May 30, 2003 at 2:35 pm #62406ddoublejMemberI here that Ytunnel sucks, but i guess thats just a rumor……

Why yes, yes it is.
May 30, 2003 at 3:55 pm #62400NettiMemberDDouble, If you are using a very old version of ytunnel, or a cracked version of ytunnel, then it’s going to suck. If you purchase the program for the ONE TIME FEE of $17, then low and behold, it actually works!!!!!!! imagine that!!!!! and It works GREAT!!!! Boots are almost non existant, bots and ads have suddenly disappareard… Dang I love that program!!!!

No doubt. It’s difficult for any solution to be 100% foolproof against booters that haven’t even been dreamed up yet. But if there’s a solution that works against 90% (or more?) of the problems, that’s better than nothing, isn’t it?
