ParticipantI like http://www.learn2type.com It gives you a paragraph to type and then it highlights all your errors in red. Gives you GWAM and Net.
I typed 71 the other day in a program at school.

ParticipantWhen I took a typing class we used this thing that had different typing levels(most people were typing seriously for like the 1st or 2nd time) and we all had to start on the easiest level which was like typing exercises like asdfjkl;. It was so easy then I got to like the most advanced and was typing very consistintly.

wouldn’t that make it a QWERTZ keyboard?October 16, 2006 at 11:17 pm #107289gossipingrae
MemberSoo I had to search for this thread. I’m filling out a job application for the American Heart Association and I had to take the test. Seems I’ve slowed too, down to 64 WPM.

ParticipantHoly crap, this is old. When I first posted in this thread, I had about 45 WPM.
Now I can honestly say that I type well above 80. Perhaps, at times, around 90. 🙂

MemberInteresting thread!

I’m virtually the same as you, Spike (was tested a couple of years ago for a job, 39wpm) – but MY hunt and peck is strictly ONE forefinger (with the other forefinger permanently hovering over “Shift”.)

ParticipantI took a typing class (if you can call it that) way back in 8th grade. It wasn’t really all that helpful. I do remember still hunting and pecking a few years later through high school, though I had been getting much better. Then as I spent more time on the computer, I ended up just never needing to look at the keys. Now… over 8 years later… I’m near 80wpm.

ParticipantHeh wow, quite old post. Now I type around 90 wpm. I feel pretty good about that, I can out-type like everyone at school (teachers included heh), it’s fun.

MemberIf I recall correctly, I usually get 112 WPM with 100% accuracy.
I crash those silly typing testers at school…

ParticipantI’m resurrecting this thread just to say this:
My typing speed is now 115 WPM! w00t.
Edit: Oh yeah, and with the paragraph I typed I got 3 or 4 errors.
