Hi,
Like the topic says, I’m appearing offline to my contacts when my status is online. It’s getting frustrating and I was wondering if there was any fixes.
I’ve uninstalled Live+ or whatever it was called, alas, it didn’t help..

Edit: If I block and then unblock a contact, they can see my status, but not when I’m online…
Hello and welcome to BBB! When you sign in are you set to sign in as visible or are you signing in invisible and changing to visible?
Have you tried this with any other login ID? If so, does it happen for all of them or just one ID?

Edit: When I logged in on another computer, I was still appearing offline to contacts.
If you have another login you could try that would be helpful.
Also, how many contacts do you know this is happening with? If it’s only one then it’s possible it’s the other person’s problem and not yours. Hopefully you’ve been able to verify with several contacts that it shows the same to them?

By any chance have you recently changed your Live ID? And if so, did this problem start after doing that?
I just saw your edit to a previous note that when you logged in on a totally different computer you were still showing offline to your contacts. That would indicate a server side issue where it’s not updating your status correctly.
I’m afraid there isn’t a lot you can do about that. It will likely resolve itself in a couple days. You could try changing your password to see if it would force the server to reset you, but that resolution has not worked nearly as well lately as in the past.
Especially with the larger than usual numbers of people being asked to upgrade right now, there are bound to be a few glitches.
Hi, Im having the same problem, some contacts see me online but the mayority see me as offline. I was thinking it was my router but then i tried connecting via only with my cable modem and same problem. This is really frustrating :(, i hope its a problem from microsoft!
Hey guys I have the same problem and it all started when I installed newest version of WLM. And it happening on other computers and on my blackberry too!!! Help! I even made me new ID and it didn’t help 🙁 It’s showing me offline to my contacts and to me is showing online and no I’m not signed in as show offline.
If it happens on other computers with the same ID then it is a server side issue. There seem to be quite a few of those lately.
When you made the new ID did you consolidate your old one with it? I hope not – because there is a known issue and they are not suggesting changing your ID at this time.
