It kinda gets annoying when parents put restrictions on computer accounts of their children.. Luckily my parents aren’t like that. I’ve also seen on tv parents who even use webcams to track their children’s online activity. But to be sure, I always clear my History folder before shutting down my computer.

Linux was the response toPlease do your homework better. A router is a device that shares an internet connection between two or more PC’s. Or more technically: it’s a device that connects two or more networks together. It does not provide any measures for filtering 18+ web sites. Now, please – stop this madness.
March 2, 2005 at 7:37 am #115250EEDOKMemberIt doesn’t?? What’s all this then?
and why’s it listed as a feature on their webpage? http://netgear.com/products/details/RP614.php#protect
Also why did other members suggest it as well? Don’t tell me to do my homework when yours isn’t done!March 2, 2005 at 8:32 am #115237DJHyperbyteMemberFirst of all, do not put such large images in your posts. Use the attachment feature instead.
Secondly, yes – it does contain the option to block certain domains, I’m aware of that. But had you used your brain for more than 3 seconds in a row you might have been able to figure out that sarahtowny is not going to search for every inappropriate website on the internet and add them all to that list manually.
This your last warning. Post anymore crap in this thread and I’ll lock your forum account – plain and simple.

I see you’re not setting a good example for other members. Now I’m gonna let you in on a very little known secret(since you won’t take the time to look at the manual for the router), if sarah does not want to search for every inappropriate website, she can select the option to block inappropriate websites from the setup wizard which sets up the appropriate filters. The other thing is no filter is 100% up to date with every single site, as they pop up fast as can be, with no remorse, but the router has the feature where sites can be logged when they have certain words in them, so that if her child accidently stumbles upon them, she can be sure to filter it the next time around.
Now here’s a suggestion that myself and (an)other member(s) of this board have, let sarah decide which solutions are unfit for her, don’t just delete them , and if you’re not going to offer a solution itself, please just leave the thread, some of us are trying to be help sarah here.
