While advertisingsponsoring is a common way to publish and promote a product for free,
some software advertising systems do more then just showing static banners, they make use of your internet connection to retrieve new
banner ads from a third parties server and send various information about you. This information is collected and sold to third parties.
(In short words:The more they know about you, the higher is your value for them.)
Because of the unobviously, secretly behaviour of these systems, they are also called advertising trojans.
Most of these systems are installed with a (often popular) host application, which may or may not work without the snoopware components installed.
Some attach themself to your browser, some are completely invisible.Popular applications including parasites are, for example Go!Zilla, AudioGalaxy or BearShare.

September 24, 2002 at 8:00 am #100853rustedtightMemberSeriously Friendlyfox, you have lost the plot here, this subject is Internet Scams and as such has absolutely nothing whatever to do with adware or spyware.
Not even under the most remote possibility could you connect adware and spyware to this form of scam.
Please if you dont know the subject then dont post rubbish about it.

that scams doesnt contain spywares or shits but wat i ment that the reason somebody sent Jeff an email like that is because that person or party knew Jeff by a certain sourc whatever it wasthat source is aided by a spyware and not the internet scams contain aspyware

Certainly.
SCAM, this is a ploy by a person or a group to illegally seperate you from your money this ploy may be an appeal to your heart in which case they offer a sad tale and seek your monetary support, Or in this case, it is an appeal to your greedy side and an offer of easy riches in which case they seek to obtain your banking details and access to it.
ADWARE, this is advertisment supported software or sites that simply and quite legally present you with adverts to entice you to buy. they are occasionally connected to………….
SPYWARE, this sometimes illegal tho often not activity entails tracking your surfing on the web for later sale to advertisers or lower life assholes such as porn pushers, this ‘spying’ is most often done thru cookies tho occasionally web bugs are employed.
You may well have confused a bot with spyware obtaining Jeff’s email.
BOT, this is a program often refered to as a spider or bot (robot) it simply trawls the web lookin to fill in the question marks to:-
? @ ? .com
? @ ? .net
? @ ? .org
which comes up with
jeff@bigblueball.com
or [email protected]
This is not illegal or spying as the information is freely presented on the web.For Your Information…….. you own email address used when you logged in for membership here is kept hidden to protect your address from such bots.
Jeff naturally cant hide his address and so must rely on firewalls and additional measures including common sense when reading those emails that pass thru the firewalls etc..Edited by – rustedtight on 09/25/2002 11:20:43

TEL:+31-641-229-662
CONFIDENTIAL BUSINESS PROPOSAL
You may be surprised to receive this letter from me since you do not
know me personally. The purpose of my introduction is that I am Johnson
Mowete the first son of Frank Mowete ,a farmer in Zimbabwe who was
recently murdered in the land dispute in my country. I got your contact
through network online hence decided to write you. Before the death of my father, he had taken me to Johannesburg to
deposit the sum of US8.5 million (Eight million, Five Hundred thousand
United States dollars), in one of the private security company, as he
foresaw the looming danger in Zimbabwe this money was deposited in a box as
gem stones to avoid much demurrage from security company. This amount
was meant for the purchase of new machines and chemicals for the Farms
and establishment of new farms in Swaziland. This land problem came when Zimbabwean President Mr.Robert Mugabe
introduced a new Land Act Reform wholly affecting the rich white farmers and
some few black farmers, and this resulted to the killing and mob action
by Zimbabwean war veterans and some lunatics in the
society. In fact a lot of people were killed because of this Land
reform Act for which my father was one of the victims. It is against this background that, I and my family fled Zimbabwe for
fear of our lives and are currently staying in the Netherlands where we
are seeking political asylum and moreso have decided to transfer my
father’s money to a more reliable foreign account. since the law of
Netherlands prohibits a refugee (asylum seeker) to open any bank account or
to be involved in any financial transaction throughout the territorial
zone of Netherlands, As the eldest son
of my father, I am saddled with the responsibility of seeking a genuine
foreign account where this money could be transferred without the
knowledge of my government who are bent on taking everything we have got.
The South African government seems to be playing along with them.I am faced with the dilemma of moving this amount of money out of South
Africa for fear of going through the same experience in future, both
countries have similar political history. As a businessman,I am seeking
for a partner who I have to entrust my future and that of my family in
his hands, I must let you know that this transaction is risk free. If
you accept to assist me and my family, all I want you to do for me, is to
make an arrangements with the security company to clear the
consignment(funds) from their afiliate office here in the Netherlands as i have
already given directives for the consignment to be brought to the
Netherlands from South Africa.But
before then all modalities will have to be put in place like change of
ownership to the consignment and more importantly this money I intend
to use for investment.I have two options for you. Firstly you can choose to have certain
percentage of the money for nominating your account for this transaction.
Or you can go into partnership with me for the proper profitable
investment of the money in your country. Whichever the option you want, feel
free to notify me. I have also mapped out 5% of this money for all kinds
of expenses incurred in the process of this transaction. If you do not
prefer a partnership I am willing to give
you 10% of the money while the remaining 85% will be for my investment
in your country. Contact me with the above telephone number and E-mail
addresse, while I implore you to maintain the absolute secrecy required
in this transaction. Thanks, GOD BLESS YOU
Yours Faithfully

if you cant see the connection, too bad. its very simple thing and riahnoon has made a big deal out of it. Well i just said that msn has taken a step and ‘tried’ to stop people from giving out their pin numbers to others in Msn Messenger IM windows. in the IM window it says: never give out your password and credit card number. Which unfortunatly doesnt teach anything to many people. DO YOU GET IT NOW?? its not a big deal. if u dont get it, forget it and post your own suggestions or opinions on internet scams.
