November 15, 2004 at 4:55 am #104421dreamrose1989MemberI’ve never actually read the book and from reading all of your posts it is a dark book but I just can’t picture it as a dark evil one so can anyone explain or tell me a little bit more about how it’s so dark, maybe even a few scenes that are scary?

maybe one of the oompa loompas will pop out and turn one of the children into chocolate, then oompa loompas will eat them.
December 10, 2004 at 8:58 am #104424OreoMemberI just saw clips from the movie. It looks pretty good but it definitely has that “Tim Burton” touch to it (lots of purple and shadowy). No I didn’t see that “Polar” movie…they actually had a little thing on ET[/b] ( I normally don’t even watch it…I just happened to be flipping through…uh yeah…that’s it…flipping through works) Anyway….July is getting closer so I’m sure we’ll be seeing more and more….
EDIT: It was actually on EXTRA[/b] See…I really don’t watch those things…THAT much.
December 11, 2004 at 9:42 pm #104443CheerBear42MemberThe trailer for this movie can also be found on Yahoo!! I just watched it and this movie is definitely going to be different from the old one, but MUCH better also. I mean the other movie was just gay. Check it out: http://movies.yahoo.com
EDIT: Removed size and colour tags. Please only change size and colour to emphasize a specific, important part of your post. Thank You.
December 11, 2004 at 10:27 pm #104439camsterMemberwow. I hope that song isn’t in the movie. I think I might have nightmares tonight. Well…I think we can all agree it’s going to be VERY different. Whether it’s in a good or bad way, I’m not sure yet. That was a dissapointing trailer though. Oh, well. I’m not sure what I was expecting.
December 12, 2004 at 10:59 pm #104434SpikeMemberOMG The oompa-loompa’s have headsets! That is the funniest thing I have ever seen! Anyways, yeah, the movie will probably seem more dark and scary, and the last picture where you see the factory and it’s just a stone structure….wow that looks really freaky, and, honestly, the old movie freaked me out, too…*shudder* But I’ll still see it.
December 15, 2004 at 4:54 am #104444CheerBear42MemberDoes anyone else think that this character is rather similar to Johnny’s “Ed Wood”? I think the smile is definitely Ed Wood, which shows that this movie will be totally different and unexpected. 😀
December 20, 2004 at 3:23 pm #104420Jeff HesterKeymasterI just saw the trailer at http://www.movies.com. Willy Wonka sure looks different than I expected. I hope the movie turns out good.
January 1, 2005 at 11:35 am #104442DyingInAPromiseMemberI saw a trailer of it the other day, It looks alot more different then it used to be. Hopefuly its good!
January 2, 2005 at 10:12 pm #104428RabidKittenParticipant*laughs* I checked out movies.com (thanks Miami) and it looks like Mr. Depp got major botox for the movie! *cackles* That smile just plastered there and..and the lack of facial expression and and and the creepy smile!! *shudder* My brother was on my machine next to me (glare) and he said “Dude…that looks scary”. I had to explain that it was a dark book and it was supposed to be scary. He didn’t believe me *oy vey* Ah well. It’s looking interesting, none the less, but I think the kids look very…unimpressive. You notice the difference between Movie People and Real people? That subtle looking kind of sharpness of the features that doesn’t make them as drab or dulled as the rest of the world? Yeah, the kids and some of the adults don’t have that sharpness to them, it’s always annoyed me in movies when a few characters look that way. *twitch…twitch* But it’s really looking good from what I saw!
