ModeratorI know I haven’t been around much lately, but I wanted to wish all you wonderful guys and girls a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
As I write this, I have gone through six months of emotional turmoil (’nuff said) and I really don’t feel like celebrating at the moment. However, I’m counting my blessings (that keeps me sane) and hope that 2009 won’t see more misery, chaos and destruction. Yeah, that sure messes my head.
Take care, my fellow BBB staffers.

ParticipantBah Humbug! I’m a grinch – I don’t care for the holidays. If you adopt my attitude, then you don’t have to feel bad about not wanting to celebrate.
And it’s a dual purpose attitude! You don’t have to be festive AND no one expects you to go out and buy them presents or attend any holiday functions!

ParticipantI hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a blessed New Year. The old is in the past… we all can start anew. Remember the good times this old year, even if they were but moments; and celebrate the future with the coming of this new year.
Many of us have had struggles this year, but we are all here, and healthy, and still hanging out at this Big Blue something-or-other. That’s more than enough reason to celebrate.
May you each find peace and happiness in your lives and know that the team here is always that… a team… and here to lend an ear or an opinion… whatever you wish.

ParticipantHope everyone had a good Christmas and that everyone has a great start for the New Year. Sorry for not being around much too – I’m on vacation from work so making the best of it!
And sorry to sound grumpy – but if you don’t believe in the holidays at least be positive like others – don’t throw it under the bus. I know you have your reasons for doing so but don’t ruin it for others, it’s not fair. I really do hope you have a better year for an attitude change. 🙂
(And I know life isn’t fair, but if I have a say over it – I sure will try.)

MemberThrow it under a bus? I’d prefer to set it on fire with a flamethrower and roast some marshmallows… I’d share, of course.

Being fair is irreverent, it all just has to balance themselves out e.g. the ones who enjoy the holidays and those who don’t. They just need to co-exist (hopefully without issue) and agree to disagree. 😉
Happy Holidays!

MemberWhy? Can’t have one without the other. You may like the holidays, but I hate (not dislike, hate) every single one of them since I know they don’t really mean a single thing (except Earth Day, which really isn’t a holiday). I won’t really mention more of my anti-holiday views here for now, since some will just scald me for it, but I really couldn’t care less.
Please tell me some of you are going to plant a tree this year?!? If not, the tree fairy will haunt you. =)

That is a pretty ignorant/arrogant statement. A lot of statutory holidays are based on religion. Just because it seems you are non-religious, they don’t mean anything? Maybe you should reword that to not meaning anything to you.
