Oh thanks shifter.
How come my last post shows HTML when I used prompted BB Code?Well, Snitz converts forum code to HTML when it saves your post to the database. There is a known bug in Snitz that when a URL passes another URL as a querystring value (as your link did), it thinks you’ve created a whole new link and trys to wrap in in an anchor tag.
June 27, 2003 at 5:01 pm #95912shifterMemberIts because your link had 2 website addresses in it, the forum code seems to get confused and the little code that converts web sites into clickable links like this http://www.bigblueball.com – overrides and mucks up your nicely coded link to something completely unusable. Taking out the www before bigblueball.com disables that little auto web link code, and thats what I did to fix your link.

I think Snitz V.3.4.04 will fix these bugs as well. Are you gonna upgrade as well?
July 2, 2003 at 2:20 am #95901mariettelarkinMemberYou guys are all so knowledgeable it amazes me. Could you send some of that my way too! I really want to learn web page development!

Faizan,
What are you talking about? v3.4.04 won’t fix the URL bug, it’s almost unfix-able. Where did you pull that out of?And why would Jeff upgrade? 3.4.04 is only 3.4.03 with 20 or so bug fixes. it would take less time to add all those fixes than it would to remod everything.
July 2, 2003 at 3:56 am #95897detn8rParticipantFaizan showed me this link, and it looked pretty neat to check out: https://bigblueball.com/forums/post_info.asp

Huh? post_info.asp is only the inc_header.asp and inc_footer.asp files unless you have some info send in a POST form to it…
July 2, 2003 at 4:14 am #95896detn8rParticipantmy bad. wrong link. I deleded my history, faizan has the correct link, or possibly someone else.
July 2, 2003 at 2:29 pm #95903FaizanMemberHmm Detn8r, what link?
July 2, 2003 at 7:12 pm #95899July 3, 2003 at 12:08 am #95907DJHyperbyteMember“The page cannot be found”, hmmm? 🙂
July 3, 2003 at 12:40 am #95902FaizanMemberDetn8r, who told you to show it to everyone?
Admin has renamed it again.July 3, 2003 at 2:08 am #95885Jeff HesterKeymasterActually he had it right, except for the typo in the URL (it’s “forums” with an “s”). But I have renamed them and restricted access to our staff. It’s not because I don’t want you to see our stats, but because the report puts a reasonably intense burden on our database server and if lots of people started running it, the web site would really slow down for everyone.
If you want stats, feel free to ask and I’ll post them. What are you interested in?
July 3, 2003 at 4:03 am #95909BrianMemberJust trying to be helpful here, Jeff. If you happen to have stats on smile icons, it is probably why the website slows down. My friend had the stats on smile icons turned off and the website speeds up.
July 3, 2003 at 4:33 am #95884Jeff HesterKeymasterWhat smile icons? Do you mean like this one: 🙂 ??
