Interesting. I had some people tell me that they had it working in FireFox, and for that matter Linux. I’ll look into it. 😉
August 23, 2004 at 9:04 pm #74916mano5MemberI remember not being able to get on MSN using their own messenger from my uncle’s Windows 95 because they made it so you must use the newest client now.. and the newest client will only work on Windows 98 or newer.
Farthermore I wasn’t able to do any online banking because the browser wasn’t new enough. I would say that this Web Messenger would be a big help to people in that situation permanently but seeing the browser limits I wonder if it will even work. Running around the internet trying to solve these problems on a 95 with dialup (and hardware to match) is not fun… by “running” I mean I could use my new computer, load a page, hit hibernate, restart my computer, click a link, hibernate, and repeat the process faster than my uncle’s machine… (litirally.. sadly). To all you less fortunate, my prayers are with you. 🙁 :p

That’s cool. Care to explain why?

August 27, 2004 at 12:09 am #74903FaizanMemberMatthew, our school has blocked GMail even before it was launched, what can you expect for a web messenger? Even BigBlueBall is blocked on the server.. what more can you expect?

Might need to disable the pop-up blocker. Works fine in Firefox for Windows.

It’s not Trillian that is blocking Web Messenger, but ice versa. If any news become aparent about it, be sure you will here it before you have to ask 😉
August 27, 2004 at 5:15 pm #74920DirtMemberAnyone know of a reliable 3rd party web messenger system that can talk to Trillian by way of MSN?
August 27, 2004 at 5:20 pm #74907shifterMemberhttp://www.e-messenger.net worked for me yesterday.
August 27, 2004 at 10:41 pm #74921DirtMemberThank you. I’ve found a couple myself but have been unsure as to the reliability of the person programming it.

MSN WebMessenger is neat, much better than other web-based chat clients including AOL’s.
Better than Yahoo! Web Messenger as well, in my opinion.
