Hey guys!
I have been noticing that there are some weird, uh… profile names (if thats what they’re called), and I was just wondering if there is a story behind them. I’ll start:Mine is Soccer4dummys, and I chose it because I like to play soccer, and even taught people how to play soccer. I also saw some of those books that say BLANK for dummys, so I just combined them both.
Hope I get some interesting feedback ๐
January 8, 2007 at 1:56 am #155741MrEggsaladParticipantI remember seeing an old old post about this, but can’t seem to find it. Anyhow, I like the newness of this so here I go:
It was in 5th grade and we had a substitute who told us we can have any name we want (with exceptions of course ๐ ) and I guess there was something with the word Egg salad on it, so I ended up using MrEggsalad. Now since I liked that name I kept it and well…I even own a site (mreggsalad.net)…crazy ๐
January 8, 2007 at 2:46 am #155744NessaParticipantAfter endless looking just like Ryan did, i finally found the old thread, here. There is tons of posts there so yeah thanks for starting a new thread on this! (You can of course browse many more of people’s name stories there.)
Well my username doesn’t really have much of a story, it was pretty random, especially since i didn’t think i would be coming back to the forums as much as i do now. But now i use it on many sites and even made it a Yahoo! id (not my main one though) but i do own it!
So yeah not much of a story to it’s creation but now it has quite a history! ๐
January 8, 2007 at 12:00 pm #155746Tea GrannyMemberMine should be obvious and require little to no explanation. It was a nick name given to me when I was a young girl. I rather enjoy a cup of tea! It was the nicest nickname I’ve ever had, so I used it.
Who would want to post using the name “Thunder Thighs?” I have my brother to thank for that one. I just couldn’t bring myself to use that one… any where!
Who cares if this thread has been done before? It is still an interesting topic and bumping threads is usually a no-no!;)
January 8, 2007 at 9:04 pm #155747PolarBearNPRParticipantPerhaps a “new” take on this would be – What do you think the story behind some of these sns is? Care to guess mine? Many of you know, but for those that don’t, give it a try. I’ve got the story below – just highlight to see it, if you want to see if you’re right.
My dad refers to me as a polar bear. Even bought me a little marble statue when I was in high school. Something about from afar I seem cute and cuddly, but up close I can be ferocious and stand my ground when challenged. (It was high school, remember?) And the NPR stands for “Never Pays Retail.” It’s a mantra I teach my kids, translated . . . wait til it’s on sale. Plus it makes a really cute avatar :p

Wow! I didn’t realize that there was another one like it (probably should have looked, but… o well)
I hope that this can be as popular as that one! ๐January 8, 2007 at 11:42 pm #155742MrEggsaladParticipant@Soccer4dummys 213082 wrote:

January 9, 2007 at 12:43 am #155740gossipingraeMemberokay here we go…again!
in my senior yearbook i was voted biggest female gossip. and my name is rachel, but everyone calls me rae. so, gossipingrae was born!
January 9, 2007 at 4:02 pm #155736TigerbladeParticipantI like PolarBearNPR’s idea of guessing… mine’s in the box.
My favorite animals are white tigers and the word “blade” just makes things sound cooler.
plus, I had just finished watching the movie “Blade.”not a huge story, not terribly exciting, but that’s it.I’m actually rather grr about it, because there are a few other Tigerblades on the Internet that I’ve noticed… hopefully people don’t confuse them for me or vice versa. And I really wanted tigerblade.com when I first got my site, but nooooooooooooo. (and yes, i said i’m ‘grr’)

But don’t worry, no one will ever confuse you with another Tigerblade – you are one of a kind. And I expect you to be grr about this issue. ๐
January 10, 2007 at 10:45 am #155737RabidKittenParticipantTom is “gr” …as in…Ti…Gr. *Sami made a pun*
*cough, shifts around* Yes well, I don’t believe mine really has much of a story, though, of course, being infamously longwinded, my answer in the last thread must be…well…long.
Anyway, eh, I have a habit of being called a kitten. I have some rather feline traits and…well…I’m cute damnit. *snort, nod*
Contrary to that, I’m rough and tumble… … … yo. I can throw my massive weight around, I assure you. All one hundred raging pounds!
So yes, Rabid Kitten.
“awww, she’s so cute and adorable as she rends my head from my shoulders”I feel like I should say “Tah Dah”, or something. *tilt of the head*
January 11, 2007 at 8:58 pm #155738Dr KimbleParticipantMy answer is pretty much the same as it was on the previous version of this.
I am a total fanatic when it comes to all things The Fugitive (movie and tv shows). Plus my AIM name is Dr KimbIe (Kimble with an “L” was taken, so I had to use an uppercase “i”) ๐
So I figured since I was joining an IM forum, it would make sense to use my IM name.
Plus, using a name with “Dr” in front of it makes me sound/look smart :woot:
Har har :c)
January 14, 2007 at 2:54 am #155745MrOatsMemberMy story? It guess it’s self explanatory… The Avatar, the writing under “MrOats”… :p
Heck, I’ll say it anyway:
I’ve had an extreme liking to Oatmeal, and Quaker Brand products for as long as I can remember.
Oatmeal, Rice Cakes, Chewy bars, Oatmeal to go bars… It’s all good in my book. It’s also part of my AIM screen name, MrOats217. People who’ve been on BBB a while may remember when I had MrOats217 as my member name on BBB, then had it changed to “MrOats”. …Well, that’s it. Exciting, huh? :pFebruary 17, 2007 at 9:34 pm #155751Soccer4dummysMemberhey Mr. Oats… I’ve always wondered (not enough to figure it out however…) but what is the diff between oatmeal and cornmeal? just the oats and corn?

Tell me you are … please ๐
