New AIM Final 5.2.3281 that fixes font bug

now that i’ve downloaded this newest version anytime i have my away message on and someone IM’s me the away message doesnt show up in their IM window thing… anyone know how to fix this??

Go up to “My AIM” then to “Edit Preferences” then click on “Away Message” then up at the top it gives you a list of options that you can choose and the one yuo want is the first one that says “Auto Respond and put in personal profile”

I dotn know if that was the thing that kept it from being in the message or not but it was worth a shot to tell ya if it was!

yes that was the problem… thanks!! i knew something mustve just been wrong with mine casue on my old screen names everything worked ifne but jsut that one didnt work…lol thanks again

And just to warn people, If you have Deadaim 4.0 you have talking why your away. So if someone IM’s you and you return from being away by replying rather than clicking “back” then your away message will stay and reply every time they instant message you. Make sure that you click “back” on your away message. I have forgotten to do this many times and the girls get very mad 😉

Not true.

My AIM –> Edit DeadAIM options –> General Tab –> Uncheck allow messaging while away.

Is this the same font bug that flood programs exploit and cause a freeze/crash of the AIM program?

No this font bug changed all the font to Times New Roman

well yeah it fixes the font bug, but now when someone IM’s me while I’m away, the autoresponse comes up as “Autoresponse from %s:” and then my away message. It displays a %s instead of my screenname. anyone know why this is? I just upgraded AIM to v5.2.3290, and i’m running deadAIM v3.2.1

this could get really annoying, someone please help

There’s another bug in version 5.2.3290, thats why the %s shows up. Nothing u can do about it until another version comes out with that fix.

Gosh..they never seem to care about AOL Instant Messanger because it is a free service. Now, everytime I Instant Message somebody..and get an away message, this- Auto response from %s: ~*~ In the shower~*~…hmm, does anyone else have this problem? I think I’m just going to download 5.1 again.
