Someguy, please try AIMFix. Even if it doesn’t work, sending in a HijackThis logfile will allow a proper fix to be created

I don’t have the virus, but all my friends do. I am looking for a solution I can give to them so they can all remove it from their systems.May 16, 2005 at 3:21 am #122007Lo0o0nGMemberHey I have the similar thing.. every 5 minutes or so.. someone would IM me with this then sign off.
this was cool, check it out
and it would link to here.I found a similar article here.
May 16, 2005 at 10:59 am #121974CronusParticipantSomeguy, please have your friends try what I suggested. If nothing else, have them download a client like TerraIM (no install, so it won’t mess up their computer in the future) and have them use it instead of the normal AIM client until AIMFix is updated.
May 16, 2005 at 9:49 pm #121966Someguy03MemberCronus, I saw the first post you made earlier in the thread, and I am already well aware of AIMfix. I was simply waiting for someone on HERE to clarify that it worked on this virus before I started passing it around. I didn’t want to waste peoples time with something that isn’t going to help them (considering the fact that most of them are not very computer-literate).
But since I got no replys on if it was effective or not, I ended up passing it around to do some tests myself. After testing it on 5 people and having it work each time, I have concluded that it DOES work on this virus.
May 17, 2005 at 9:20 am #121993RustyMemberIt is still on my other computer the computer I got it on is a laptop and the virus after 1 day made the keyboard not work so I don’t know what to do.
May 17, 2005 at 9:44 pm #121967Someguy03MemberRusty, I doubt your keyboard stopped working because of THIS virus. I haven’t met anyone who had their keyboard screw up because of it besides you. I would do a virus scan and make sure you don’t have any other malicious files on your computer. Also, check behind your computer and make sure everything is plugged in.

May 17, 2005 at 11:58 pm #121998SayianMemberI recommend you guys update your anti-virus..
Because as of may 16,2005, both Norton and Kaspersky both detect this trojan..
Haven’t checked other av’s but will post back when do.

EDIT: Woops, sorry. Haha I totally spaced out on this one. My ApologiesMay 18, 2005 at 12:57 am #121994RustyMembermy friend had it and they said there keyboard quit working.
May 18, 2005 at 2:34 am #121975Ithaca1937MemberMaybe the keyboard died. I have an old Compaq Armada 4120 that most of the keys stopped working and the battery only last 15 – 20 min. Now it’s a semi-portable desktop computer that stays pluged into the wall and has a standerd desktop keyboard pluged into it.
