i’d still suggest running it again though… run a full virus scan to see if it picks up anything, also (re)try all the things listed in the other thread. if it still doesn’t work, then report back and let us know.

I got the link (the LOL look at this, http://www.something…picture.pif) and was trying to close the window when I accidentally clicked on the link. It opened in a browser as gibberish and then my computer froze. When I booted up I went looking for the .pif file and it is nowhere to be found on my computer. As far as I can tell, it didn’t do anything. Anyone who knows about Mac’s, can you tell me if I’m ok? Thanks! ~~GraphicsGirl
January 22, 2006 at 5:38 pm #121958DavidParticipantMac’s don’t use .pif files for anything, the reason it opened as gibberish is because it read a binary file as ASCII… and I guess your CPU couldn’t handle it for whatever reason? But those viri don’t affect Mac and *nix systems, only Windows.
