some things im really not liking about this beta are the little IM Talk and Actions buttons. I think they should just have the icons like the one now or just like a drop down menu. also this is proabbaly just because of the beta, but the taskbar thing is really screwy, to turn the whole thig off, you have to do control alt delete and close the AOL process…oh well
cant wait till the final gets out
anyone know when it will?
hopefully it wont run as slow and use as many processes when the final comes out too, and that i can get it on win2000 without finding work arounds to get it
Performance is our number one priority, at least from the development teams at this point. This may or may not reduce the number of processes going forward, but it will get load times down, etc. For example, we are working on improving the time it takes to sign on…we would like to divide in half the time it takes. This is just one example, there are hundreds.
In terms of running on 2K, I do know that is in the cards, just be patient with us.
Wow as Dave said the GUI definitely looks a lot better. I just hope this one, when released, doesn’t come with a bunch of adware like previous Aim versions. If I see one more wildtanget thing on my aim I’m going buckwild. Heck I’ll still go buckwild since I see they still have that stupid big ad right in the top as always.
I wrote in the AIM Triton forums, and mentioned that they really shouldent install all that crap on your computer like wildtanget, aol browser, aol pictures, and that alot of people dont even know is there and its just useless stuff that noone uses and ends up uninstalling anyays
i wrote that too
what they think will attract more people to their software will even turn them away from it even more.
