My school recently got some “new” computers, but they’re just as crappy as the old ones, crappy old beige-boxes. windows…. 95, I think.

I would like to raise the point that at no point was someone called Sharpe shot at our school.
Other things may have happened to a person called Sharpe, which I will not raise but at no point did I or anyone else shoot him.
I ONLY POINTED A GUN AT HIS HEAD, won’t you people let me forget one stupid mistake!
Though we did have acorns, there was a problem with those damn squirrels in the run up to the winter period…..
May 5, 2004 at 12:12 am #89152AnnaParticipantThe oldest OS at school that I’ve seen so far would have to be 3.1

June 3, 2004 at 1:11 am #89173El DiabloMemberWhen I was in high school, actually they were soo cheap that the only thing that was on it was, DOS, wordperfect, DOS programming software, and this old piece of **** DOS version spreadsheet. I hated it, especially spreadsheet, each time I would use big numbers to try to get the average the damn thing would take forever to calculate. By the time it gave me the answer, I’ve already figured it out on a piece of paper. And we were using the very first IBM’s too.
If I see that computer again, or if I have to use that damn spreadsheet piece of crap again. I’ll have to sign into a mental hospital LOL.December 28, 2004 at 2:21 am #89177RustyMemberWindows 95 but now they are updating all of them to Windows XP Pro at my school over christmas break.

January 16, 2005 at 10:47 pm #89174princeGParticipantI’m behind an AMD Duron 800Mhz, 128MB RAM, 40 GB HD, windows xp, and it suits me just fine. For the moment at least. I used to have a Pentium at 166Mhz 32MB Ram, an 80286, which I miss hehe, good old dos days.. I always liked Dos and I still know a few things. The oldest and the first computer I had, was an Amstrad CPC, u know, those ones that were based on the Basic language. However only my AMD is the only active now. The others i suppose have become spider and other bugs nests :p
March 18, 2005 at 2:07 am #89176MrEggsaladParticipantAt school I use a 5 year-old iMac with Macintosh 8, 9, and 9.5. Every thing is so slow and they freeze all the time:mad: It is so bad when I am researching or typing something and then it just freezes and I have to restart it and start all over.
March 18, 2005 at 3:29 am #89161EEDOKMemberWell I’m not sure what’s older, the 286’s used for inventory(running DOS) or the AT&T’s doing cash,(not sure what they run, but it’s a yellow and green screen).
