KeymasterHaven’t had a chance till today to really do anything. Closed a topic so clearly things must be right here. Thanks.
I noticed in here (staff room) I couldn’t test topic closings ect. Which I wanted to do secretly, and why I wasn’t able to confirm things till now. Is there any reason why all those who are staff can’t do things in the staff room?

ParticipantI believe only the Admin can change/close/edit threads in the Staff room, for (i’d think) fairly obvious reasons, namely control of the forum. i imagine the SuperMods (SuperAdvisors?) might be able to make a few changes in the Staff Room, but that’s just a guess.

The staff room is moderated soley by Jeff. 🙂June 5, 2005 at 11:54 pm #121835Jeff Hester
KeymasterI’ve reset permissions so Advisors can now moderate posts in the Staff room. Keep in mind that there is a moderation log that keeps track of all moderation actions — no sneaky tricks! :p
I’ve also enabled HTML in the staff room to allow you to paste tables, etc. This is not allowed in the public forums because it’s too easy for someone to break the display of the forums and can even pose a security risk.
Also, HTML is allowed in the news forums, but those are moderated topics, meaning that an Advisor must approve the posts before they are visible to the public.

ParticipantJeff wrote:I’ve reset permissions so Advisors can now moderate posts in the Staff room…Sorry to bring up an old thread but i was wondering if that still applied? When i was working on the “Submit You Favorite Yahoo Program” for the Yahoo Section, i had to do copy and paste to the Yahoo! Messenger Support forum instead of doing it in the Staff Room and just moving it over because i couldn’t. So i was wondering if I should have the ability to move post from staff room or not.

Member*checks* Yep, still have permissions. Maybe it’s just you, can you edit other people’s posts in this thread, and do you see a “Moderation” box just under the page numbers at the bottom here?
