Offline Message Troubleshooting
There are two possible reasons why you may not receive offline messages:- You (or your ISP) are behind a firewall or proxy server. A firewall/proxy server controls what is let in and out of your network. If you think you are behind some type of security protection, please contact your network administrator (if you are at work) or your ISP (if you are at home) to help you configure your firewall/proxy server.
- We are experiencing temporary server problems. If this is the case, the server problem should be resolved within the day.
Please Note: Offline messages are stored locally (on your computer), whereas instant messages are stored on our servers. This means that you can’t access old offline messages from another computer if you’ve already read them.
If your Messenger is crashing when you try to start it or when you try to view offline messages, it’s possible that you have a corrupt offline message in your offline messages folder. To fix the problem, you will need to download and install the latest version of Yahoo! Messenger: http://www.zdnet.com/downloads/yahoo/ie.html
Another possible solution to try and get offlines to work again is to delete your alias’s if you have any. Then add them again later. It worked for me and now i get my offlines..maybe there was a bug or something wrong with one of the alias’s. Good Luck!
