MemberHi Netti! Nice to have you back. And that way certainly DOES work…just one thing to add….make sure to warn those of your friends that you WANT to have on your list. I tried this once, but failed to inform the rest of the people on my buddy list what I was doing…I had to explain to a few friends of mine that I WASN’T broadcasting myself naked on the net and that I was just trying to flush out who had me on their lists. I caught TWO scum bags who I certainly DID NOT want to have on my list…and WOOSH…as simple as that…I zipped them off my list. It’s just safer to warn those you care about first. 🙂

MemberI was using Access Denied but it doesn’t seem to be working now. I just downloaded another program called Deny Buddy and this one works. I just tried it with my friend a couple of different ways. If you remove your name from their list while they are online they will get a message saying that you removed your name. Like a couple of the other progs people have mentioned, if they are NOT online when you remove it then a message shouldn’t appear and they won’t know. The name will just be gone. So if you want to remove your name without them knowing, make sure they aren’t on. This is how it worked for me at least. I’m not sure if I can put the link up because I haven’t looked at all of the stuff on this site. It’s pretty big. I don’t know how to tell anyone if they want to know. 🙁

MemberQuote:quote:Originally posted by Trolling_AroundOh yeah and I forgot to add, if you use DaB to remove your ID from someones list whilst they are OFFLINE then they do NOT get a rejection message, your ID is just ‘gone’ from their list when they next login 😉
This is a great tool–a quick question; is there any way to get the complete list of people who have you on their list?

MemberHi HappyPete! Welcome! Many of us WISH there was a way to get this list, but alas, as of now there is no way. If you look at some of the other posts on the subject (there are others that are not on this thread, you can find them by using the search function on the upper right hand side of the screen…I LOVE using search!) and you’ll find ways of finding out who has you on their list. One way that works is to put a status message: “if you don’t repsond by X:XX your name will be removed from my list” OR you warn your good friends and then you say you’re naked on cam and see who tries to access…you’ll be surprised who pops out of the woodwork! Good luck! 🙂

MemberI’m new here and hope that I’m not doing something against the rules by posting this suggestion.
The chat client YahElite has a command to remove yourself from somebody else’s buddy list. You simply type /unbud (their_username) and it sends the command to Yahoo and removes you from their list.

ParticipantI used to have the ZakNoBuddy, but lately its not working. Im always getting error that my yahoo id or password is incorrect even if I enter it correctly a million times. So I reinstalled it but still it didnt work. So I downloaded the DenyABuddy (DaB) programme. Still not working for my 2 id’s. I get an error message saying “failed to lig in”.
Can someone help me with this? I need to remove my name in some people’s buddy list so they will stop bugging me for good. Even if I ignore them they can still message me on my phone when I go mobile.

Member> Dab stopped working during the serverrenames – its now working
JAM stopped working for a while – update was posted 12th JAN – nowI’ve found that JAM has stopped working. Basically it failes in the logon process (thinks the password is wrong). I’ve also tried V5, same result
Is there any plan to update JAM in the near future?

MemberY!TunnelPro 2.0 build 330 has a working integrated Deny A Buddy feature. I have yet to find another denier that works since the recent login update by yahoo.
July 7, 2004 at 11:39 am #54473Trolling_Around
Memberyes Y!Tunnel now has a “Deny-a-Buddy” built into it, and since Y!Tunnel ‘piggybacks’ the official clients connection it doesnt have to worry about authenticating schemes etc.
now, where have I heard the name ‘Deny-A-Buddy’ before?

MemberIf you use the prog DaB3 and send when the person is offline they will not recieve a rejection message………;)
Quote:quote:Originally posted by intelguardThanks Trolling. JAM program works but it sends a message box saying that the user denies you. I’m going to be removed without any message so that the others do not notice I deleted my name from their list as soon as they log in. Is it possible?

Just to bring you up to speed and I din poat this some where in her but hell if I can find it again 🙁 it looks like you have Deny A Buddy and it either has an unregisted ‘Mswinsck.ocx’ or like most doest have it at all with the zip you have ( god I wish ppl would put ALL need files in a program/Util) ok where you have the zip for it (assuming you have it in its own folder ) visit http://www.dynamiclink.nl/index.htm and youll find it under .ocx index d/l that and place the zip in the same folder as the Deny A Buddy scan it for virus ( always with anything) unzip and place in that folder, that should help you solve that issue .PS: if you ever need that .ocx again the just copy and place it to the folder that the new prog is in 😀
Also since yahoo have changed a few things they aint logging in via YMSG11.dll anymore you will need a deny A Buddy with current YMSG12.dll hope this helps

MemberFor what it’s worth, it’s probably *really* good practice to change your password after doing one of these things. Any time you are putting your password into software that the password doesn’t ‘belong to’ you are putting yourself at risk.
What a tempting thing for a hacker to do, write a program that people will want to use that get you a yahoo password. There is all sorts of mischief that could be done with this.
If you are really attached to your password, then change it something else before you use the program and change it back when you’re done.
