i was on the middleman site, and I found that “Stairway to Heaven” backwards plays something about satan, so I googled it, and I found this thing with other songs, too. its really weird. I even downloaded the sound file he posted, converted to .wav and reversed it in sound recorder, and, sure enough, its right. thats really weird…its gonna give me nightmares….
http://www3.telus.net/jefmil/stairwaybackwards.htmmost of ’em song pretty close to the what they say it sounds like, too.
i’m not sure how fast it loads up on slow connection, I have high speed so I never know
EDIT: Moved to Music Room
September 26, 2004 at 9:01 pm #37593MartinBradleyMemberYeah, thats called “Backtracking”.
Basically, it was used to convey other messages in songs which the band probably wouldn’t have been able to get away with had they played it forwards.
Backtracking is banned now, as some people say it is demonic.

September 26, 2004 at 9:30 pm #37595TigerbladeParticipantthere’s a song called “Dinner at Deviant’s Palace” by the band “Cradle of Filth” that’s basically nothing but gibberish the whole way through… but if you play it backwards you get the Lord’s Prayer. freaky stuff. I just realized that I hang out with some weird people if I know stuff like this.

If you click on the “Show reverse lyrics” button, it will tell you what it says.
I don’t know about YOU guys, but I find this really interesting. I listened to the other songs too, and I think the most obvious one is the one by Brittney Spears :p. Ummm… I guess that’s all I have to say. 🙂
September 26, 2004 at 9:40 pm #37600ys8er2323Membercan this subliminal stuff really affect you though?

Well, it might change the way you think about the Artists. I don’t think it should influence you to do bad stuff, though.
September 26, 2004 at 9:50 pm #37601ys8er2323Memberoh because I was looking at other sites and they say people try to commit suicide and burn houses and etc.

Yeah, thats the main reason why it was banned. Things such as subliminal images in films are also banned. Some people believe it can get into your sub-conscience and actually affect you. I’m not sure myself, although after listening to such songs, there is an uneasy feeling I get. I can’t really prove that, you’ll just have to take my word on it. (Or not) But I don’t feel like killing myself though.
September 26, 2004 at 11:40 pm #37596TigerbladeParticipantno, it cant really affect you. its subliminal… meaning below any level of consciousness that would affect your decisions on anything. there’s been studies on things like this, like the supposed subliminal messages in movies that make you want to buy soda and goobers at the movie theater. the results come back showing that there’s little if any truth to “subliminal advertising” working. besides, our minds cant reverse songs and hear what they say, we have to reverse them externally and then play them to hear anything else.
September 26, 2004 at 11:59 pm #37610bigcfkMemberOn a Jay-Z Black Album remix album, The Grey Album, DJ Danger Mouse had an entire interlude of blah and when you play it backwards its like “666, Murder Murder Jesus” all with captions from other Jiggas songs. It’s mad wierd. But how do you do that with no one noticing? Because first time I heard it I was like this is funked up.
September 27, 2004 at 1:36 am #37588detn8rParticipantI laughed my ass off at the Brittney Spears play back 😀
And, by what significance does “666” have to do with anything satanic?

I’m not sure, but I’ve heard a few times from a few places that it’s a really unlucky number.
September 27, 2004 at 1:55 am #37589OreoMemberThis has been around for ages…I think it is also called “Backwards Masking” They used to always claim that Metallica and Ozzy and the like had messages…they probably did…but they were easy to find back in the day of vinyl and record players.

it’s biblical…
Quote:quote:Revelation 13:16-18“And it puts under compulsion all persons, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the slaves, that they should give these a mark in their right hand or upon their forehead, and that nobody might be able to buy or sell except a person having the mark, the name of the wild beast or the number of its name. Here is where Wisdom comes in: Let the one that has intelligence calculate the number of the wild beast, for it is a man’s number; and its number is 666.”
i tried to find a decent description of it, but didnt have enough time… basically its the number of the devil, hell, and by association the anti-christ
