Memberheya Mariette ~ was lounging by the pool today… a balmy 82 degrees still at 8 pm…..
this is what we / i have found so far.. had 2 people report that someone had tried to send them a .reg file…. one person saved it and passed it on.. it was a registry key to change the status message….. so its possible its just that…… still looking tho. i HATE mysteries……..and litedatura.. you have waited a full 24 hours between attempts? i know its HARD to sit on your hands and not try…..

MemberHi Nhyrvana, thanks for the reply. Yep, I waited at least 24 hours over the weekend between trying to log in and I just let at least 48 hours go by before trying to get into my account again today. Still to no avail! I’m beginning to wonder if I’ll ever get my accounts back! Any more suggestions anyone?

MemberRegarding Account Lock outs – A group of people I chat with have all had the same problem for a couple months. This is Yahoo issue. It usually will resolve itself anywhere from 1 hour to 2 days. However, if after that time, you still are unable to log into your account, I would use an alternate account for at least 1 hour, then try logging back into your other account. However, don’t forget that there are hackers and booters out there with the ability to lock your account, but they more then likely will tell you they are locking your account.
Regarding Odd status messages, this is also a Yahoo problem. Our group has gotten into the habit of reclicking the “Available” message, everytime they log in “just in case”. So that way whatever message has been left on your friends list when you left will not be overwritten. At least it will fix the problem until Yahoo figures out that there actually IS a problem.

MemberYou would think that with people emailing them about what is going on that by now yahoo would have a clue there is a problem. Good idea about doublicking on the available didnt think about that.

And when she’s booted “View my cam” messages are showing up in Spanish and Italian. She chats in Italian room the majority of the time….. could this have something to do with it??? Just a little bit MORE confused by the in’s and out’s of our beloved Yahoo!… What gives??? (By the way….she does not have a cam NOR has she EVER had one!)
the person who doesnt have a web cam is getting her messenger hacked..i seen it happen a few times in a legue im in..tds often get hacked through messenger.

MemberdarkJedi. If yahoo fixed all the problems, and everything ran perfectly, then it just wouldn’t be yahoo anymore. lol 🙂 I know that some of the yahoo problems they’ve known about for 1 year. It’s an interesting game they play.

Memberyou know some times i think someones hacking into my Instant Messages on my list because just the other day I was chattin with my sis back in the states (im in Japan) and all of a suddon some kind of advertising jump in, out of no where. She said that she had no idea what it was or where it came from and i know i did not do it so what the heck or should i say what the hack…..
May 23, 2003 at 3:38 pm #96535Netti
MemberDDouble… Advertising jumped in where? In the PM box? on you’re screen? Were you typing or Voice?
May 25, 2003 at 6:09 am #96542ddoublej
Membersome link just all-of-a-sudden apeard in the same IM that me and my sis where chattin in, it just keeped repeating it’s self till i just opened a new IM with my sis. We were just typing not using the voice or cam chat….it was like someone else was also in the same IM as we were. but this is the tricky part….you know how every time you type in something, it has your user name to the left of your comment? well to my sis it looked like that I put the link in and to me it looked like she put the link in….I thought it was kinda weird
May 25, 2003 at 2:52 pm #96501Oreo
Memberthat IS very strange and I think you WERE hacked. Just make sure not to click on any links like that. People are getting more tricky and trying to fool innocent people. My rule of thumb is that unless you are 100% sure that you were sent a link by the person you are chatting with for a VALID reason… don’t click on it and close the box. You did the right thing opening a new window with your sis. Check both of your systems for viruses….one never knows.
