MemberThe top bar is kinda unreadable because it blends in with the background:

My idea was that you could change the link colors to a shade of blue to match the color scheme or you could move the links onto the blue line that is above where the links currently are so they can be read easier.

ParticipantWhat browser are you using? The text is properly aligned with both IE6 and Firefox. The white text is on the blue bar and the black text on the clouds underneath it.

ParticipantI see the same thing in ys8r’s first post in Firefox(1.0.4), white links are in the clouds. In IE it is lined up fine.

ParticipantI use IE6 and i still see the same exact thing as in ys8er2323 first post.

Keymasteralthough i’m probably wrong, i think this may be caused by the absolute positioning on “nav-one” (that menu). too bad that IE doesn’t support user css. :/
it would probably be easier to figure out what’s going on if you provided a full screenshot.

ParticipantThat’s odd… it did look right in IE6 when I first posted, now it’s back to looking like ys8r’s screenshot in both browsers.

KeymasterI’ve tested the new layout with IE, Opera and Firefox and it should work fine.
If you have the alignment problem, it MAY mean that the BigBlueNetwork bar isn’t loading for some reason. This bar should appear at the top of every page at BigBlueBall. If you see a menu misaligned, please save full screen shot and email it to me… and please confirm if the BigBlueNetwork bar isn’t showing up.

ParticipantIt is still misaligned and the BigBlueNetwork bar is in the upper left hand corner. I shall take a screen shot and e-mail it to you.

ParticipantYou are right Jeff, the only thing that loads is the left hand part of the bar that says BigBlueNetwork. The rest of the bar isn’t there. The only page that loads it correctly is the homepage, http://www.bigblueball.com, and the menu is aligned perfectly on that page. I just got done sending you an email with my screenshot.

KeymasterI’ve narrowed down the problem. It should look like the attached image, with a bar all the way across the top, AND a skyscraper ad banner in the right column. Both of those components are loaded by our ad server, which runs an http://www.bigbluenetwork.com (70.84.84.108).
I need to figure out if it’s ad blocking software or a security setting that is preventing this from loading. For those of you having this problem, let’s try to figure out the common trait between your configurations.
I appreciate your help in debugging this. I’d like to get it resolved today, if possible.
Dave, try the new style and see if it still works for you. The problem seems to be associated with that new style because of some things I’m doing differently.

KeymasterDave, what ad-blocker are you using? Is it something that you have to configure or did it automatically detect the navbar as an “ad”?
June 5, 2005 at 5:04 pm #123389David
ParticipantThe Firefox extension ‘Adblock’ It does not come with any rules for blocking, I just used the ad script from Maxthon.
Here’s an image of the items on the page and those that are blocked (red):

I removed the reference in the rules for the network logo, the reference to the first IMG in the adblock list is now unblocked, but the page alignment is still incorrect: http://www.davux.com/images/bbb-adblock-wlogo.jpg
