Inf_gth released an unique prog that shows exactly when your AIM screenname/ICQ account was registered. Everyone deserves a birthday party, right?

What is wrong with you people. Funny how the program needs your screename and password to ‘connect’ and find our your screenames birthday. I currently don’t have a computer with a firewall, and I would suggest someone find out where this program actually sends your screename and password when gathering your ‘birthday’.

the author of the prog is not a miserable soul to start stealing miserable screennames
and yes, why don’t you check where this prog connects-AOL servers
and btw you showed your lack of respect towards the users of an unique prog that works pretty well
you simply cannot explain to yourself how this miracle works, that’s it.
you know nothing about OSCAR probably, that’s all.It’s normal to be worried about the program’s intentions. If you’re worried, do this:
-Change your AIM password to something temporary.
-Start the program and use it to find the birthday information
-Close the program, use AIM to change your password back to your original one.^_^

Truthfully, I could care less how it works as long as my password isn’t stolen. And don’t call being able to figure out when your screename was registered a miracle. IM tabbing and AIM Ad-Removal are miracle’s.
I’ve removed the link from this topic. No less than 10 minutes after using this program, I receive this message on Trillian:

Security notes:
This program tries to listen on port 3000 for incoming connections
It then attempts to connect to 64.12.161.185 : 5190 -> bucp2-vip-m.blue.aol.com
It the tries to connect to 205.188.179.233 :: 5190 -> ibucp-vip-d.blue.aol.comI’d still like to know why it listens on 3000.

yo, thats cause it uses a oscar thing to sign on. if it uses a toc (i think) you can sign on in two places. Relax buddy. It’s fine.

I require an explanation as to why it listens on port 3000 before I will allow the link back.
And I was bumped long after I closed the application, not as I connected.
