It is in my dictionary. 🙂
Gonna is a contraction of ‘going to’, just like don’t is a contraction of ‘do not’.

MemberI really don’t think you can legally call something a contraction without the ‘, lol…. but yeah, I agree, i’m gonna and fixin’ to go to bed, lol…

MemberI do not agree with you Jan. “Gonna” is just a quick and lazy way of saying “Going to”, although “don’t” is actually a contraction of “do not”, because it uses the apostrophe, like in “have not” to “haven’t” and “was not” to “wasn’t”. It’s just like saying “ya” rather than “you” and the list goes on and on. All that actually depends on the area you come from. Every place in the world has it’s own dialect which is different to other places. You will not find many people saying “Fizzog”, or “Gob”, as these are the words in the dialect of my county, Fizzog means face and Gob means mouth. [:P] Therefore, “Gonna” is not in the official dictionary.

ParticipantUh, the filter isn’t really meant for this type of thing.
Maybe we need a “Why does using slang make me look like a moron” topic?

ParticipantWho says that the filter only needs to be filtering bad words.

I just don’t want it to get to the point where words are getting screwed up because of the filtered words.

MemberCan you arrange it so I can have the username L-y-k-o-s ( without the “-‘s” of course ) please. Your filter seems to have a problem with the “L-y-k” part of it.

ParticipantI think this word-replace system is more trouble than it’s worth IMO..

KeymasterSorry Lycos. I’ve fixed the filter. Sorry for the confusion.
I think the jury is still out on the word-replace system. Obviously there will be issues.
