MemberSince Friday Afternoon I have not been able to log into yahoo voice servers. When I attempt, it completely freezes my PC and I have to reboot. This is happening on both PCs, behind a linksys router. I had not experienced ANY problems until Frida 6-25-2004. I also uninstalled 6.0, and reinstalled 5.6, ran a virus scan, ran a system restore, and called my ISP…nothing. Is anyone else having this problem? I am in North Carolina By the way. Thanks. Richard

MemberWho Is your ISP? I use charter cable internet. Im in Asheville. I have had absolutely no luck with this problem. Also signed in without the router, same problem. Also signed in using my friends username, still locked up. Signed in on a brand new PC I built last week, installed messenger, and it locked up. I know it isnt the router, I know it usnt the PC now and I know it isnt my username. However, I have not tried to sign in outside my home, so I do not know whether or not mt IP address has been blocked from voice or not, who knows, but seems like no one has any ideas. Again…who is your ISP??
Thanks Richard

Charter is aware of my problems but I think that my IP address has been hacked. They are now monitoring the situation, I will post more tomorrow. Im thinking it isn not Charter but a hacked IP address. That can happen on any connection.

MemberRichard…Thanks for the information…I’m hoping that you and Charter figure out the problem soon…I have 2 phone lines here at home…will my IP address change if I use the other number? …Or if I change from dial-up with the local ISP to Charter Cable, will the IP address be different?…sorry if that’s a stupid question, but most of this is puzzling to me (and I’m a brunette…haha)…I really appreciate your help…I was really getting frustrated with Yahoo…but then again I miss hearing my friends in the country music rooms too…take care…Sally

MemberYOUR IP ADDRESS IS PROBABLY LOCKED IN ON DIALUP, WHEN YOU SWITCH TO CABLE YOU OBVIOUSLY WILL HAVE A NEW IP ADDRESS, SO IF THIS IS OUR PROBLEM GO AHEAD AND GET CABLE OR CHANGE ISPS, IT CANT HURT EVERYTRHING ELSE HAS BEEN TRIED

MemberHmmm ya’ll have an interesting situation. If you have a cable modem your ip addresses usually changes every so often. If you have a problem, your isp should be able to ping you and send another to your modem, which to me, is weird the way Charter handled the situation. I understand the unpluging of the modem because that is a “hard reset” and usually helps the situation. If not, it may be your isp, I’m in New Orleans and use Cox, and once in awhile I have to do the same thing. Good Luck.
