You could try making your info.,htm profile file Read-Only and Encrypt it. (Check to make sure it does not have the link in there first) You won’t be able to update your profile though…
Why don’t you just download it?

ParticipantThe removers on realphx and talkstocks remove the link, but install extra spy/adware on your computer. A clean remover can be found here: http://www.rsaisp.com/software.asp

MemberI went to the site that Cronus sugguested and the directions were on the page, on step 3 (final step) it says to delete the link manually, does that mean I have to get the link out every time I get on?

Keymasterah! I don’t get why people don’t try the most obvious way first and keep wandering for the solution else where.
they have all the information in help at aim.com
http://www.aim.com/help_faq/security/trojan.adp
and about the virus:
I also clicked the link (even though I knew its a virus) it opened the page, but it couldn’t get into my computer. I don’t have any firewall (inbuilt XP firewall is also disabled), no virus scan, nothing, still my computer is intect. If you are smart enough no virus can touch you.Tips:
(1)Keep your computer updated with all windows updates.
(2)Even if you click any link don’t say yes to any download (thats what I did to stop getting it in)
(3)If it keeps asking for download again and again until you say yes or keeps poping up another pages, a nice way to trick this kind of code is to keep your hands on ‘Alt+F4’, instead of closing the window with mouse (slower way), you can quicly close it with alt+F4 before it causes another pop-up.Already got virus or pop-ups? Try this:
(1)Delete any suspious thing from Add/remove programs.
(2)Right click internet explorer click ‘settings’ then ‘view objects’. remove any suspious object. If you cannot figure out what to remove, just remove everythingin this folder. Nothing is important, those things are just chat plug-ins or flash player or shockwave player, which you can get again in fraction of seconds if you need again.
**And this is excately where pop-up causer resides**
(3)More advanced pop-up codes may have an .exe file which again generates these IE objects, which should be taken care off by add/remove programs or manual removal as stated previously in this discussion.January 2, 2004 at 9:48 pm #53335sirhc09

MemberHey, Jim again bout the adware crap
well some of you said that it wuz a virus that goes around in the profiles, its not a virus and is adware, just to advertise that stuff, you all no i hav the program if anyone needs to get the program out of their profile immediatelyA way to avoid getting these is to check the hyperlink of the link your are about to carelessly click on wen viewing sumones info, i’m not exactly sure if you have mean friends that would actually spread it purposely by hidding it in a link but this is wut you can do to keep ur profile safe
If you don’t no how to do it, this is how, right click on the link you wanna view, there should b an option to “show hyperlink…” and thats wut will show it
If it says “talkstocks.net” for the link then don’t click on it, there are others like that i just don’t remember the names of them.
Even if they catch you by accident cuz you didn’t think that it would do that to ur profile, just im me (ElementSk8er1692) for AIM and i can help you
Alright, PEACEJanuary 4, 2004 at 4:46 pm #53320American Cutie3
