Some instructions on the net mean well, but they forget to tell you to rename a file .exe to .com that is because they have been written for experts, for people less knowledgable, there are programs that cost like $30 to remove it, which is a waste when it can be done for free!
But if you click that symantec link, and follow the instructions accurately, the program on there is free and will fix it for you.
