Back to Basics, double CD by Christina Aguilera. Wonderful throwback to the 50’s and 60’s…nice one, Christina!
July 5, 2007 at 7:17 pm #119054sarahtownyMemberI am going through changes in my music taste I wanted to explore, so these last few months I have been listening to all sorts of things, having a teenager in the house makes a difference. I think it’s cool that my son and I have music as a common ground. But he is very much into 50 cent and all that goes with that … But I LOVE Akon especially Gringo, blimey can I sing to that!! haha
But driving in my car on a morning my song of this week has been Rihanna – Jay-z, Umbrella.
Next week it will be another, I am so fickle:p
One song I always go back to that means so much to me is Dare You To Move, by Switchfoot, I was always a rock chick and will never shake that off!!
eeks sezzie has gone past 1400 posts *chin chin and cheers to me* hehe

I won’t mention then as we were driving back from a shopping trip both of us singing to Kylie in my car as I drove home! hahah
Opps I did …Now I am laughing! :0)

July 10, 2007 at 4:12 pm #119232Leapy LeoMemberI defy any of you to have heard of what I’m listening to at the moment. Vic Goddard and Subway Sect whose first single was in 1978 when they were a part of the new wave movement spawned by punk in the late 70’s in England and America.
I can now return to those days musically [at least] and listen to some of the artists that I knew were around but never got to hear at the time [basically because no radio stations were playing that music].
In a way it’s sad to know that I’ll never be as excited by music again as I was in that era, never feel so genuinely a “part” of something new that was happening that I was tuned into but most wern’t…although I do appreciate some of the rap stuff [50 Cent, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, the obvious ones] because it’s so well crafted at it’s best, yet your perspectives completely change, other things just become more important than they were in my teens, unavoidably so, and music can never be quite so vital again.
Boo hoo…
July 13, 2007 at 1:12 am #119247JessicaHMemberHmmm…not listening to anything at the moment…but thanks to this thread, I’ve got different songs going through my head, now. 😛

August 24, 2007 at 4:48 pm #119233Leapy LeoMemberI’m listening to a raggae take on Pink Floyd’s “Dark side of the moon”. It’s by the “All Star AllStars” and they have substited the word “dub” for “dark” in the title.
It’s great, man!

Sounds pretty cool. I have a cover of Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” album by Luther Wright and the Wrongs called “Rebuild the Wall.” It’s done in a country-western style. I hate most country music, but I actually like their version.
Right now I’m listening to the Red Hot Chili Pepper’s “Stadium Arcadium.” Not brand-new, but still a great listen.
August 24, 2007 at 10:38 pm #119093MrEggsaladParticipantRight now I’m listening to Solas – Pastures Of Plenty.
It’s some neat Irish music, worth a listen.

September 11, 2007 at 2:05 am #118969TigerbladeParticipantOn my girlfriend’s recommendation, I’ve been working through some older stuff by Nine Inch Nails…
and on my own curiosity, I’m working through Nirvana’s stuff. All of it.
