Is there any reason why everyone uses AIM? It’s by far the WORST messenger out there..the new version of msn kicks its ass..even yahoo does..it has no webcam support, the audio feature doesn’t work half time..and while every other messenger has given up on advertising, AIM still shoves it in your face. And also, what is up with their lawyers, and their non-ability to share. They won’t negotiate for interoperability and they take off the aim icon on this site? No other messenging program seems to have a problem with it. Perhaps everyone needs to convert to another messenger.
Yeah I have to say that I fully agree with you. I have both the new version of MSN and Yahoo. Both of them are perfectly satisfactory and AIM is nothing compared to them.
Probably because the majority of AIM users are AOL subscribers?
Many of the deaf (hearing impaired) people I have known or run into think AOL is a wonderful thing that ever happened to them.
I stopped using AIM full-time after AOL released its latest AIM versions (4.7 and up) to the public so I use ICQ and MSN Messenger most of times. Yahoo! Messenger 5.6 is very nice, but that is something I’d rather stay away from for now. I will only use AIM and Yahoo! Messenger is if I am using Trillian. 😉

AIM…it ruleslol actually the reasons I personally use it is b/c I never liked MSN or yahoo…plus…none of my friends were on it. So whats the point of having it if none of ur friends are there to talk to? Plus I don’t see too many plug-ins (AIMutation and DeadAIM) type stuff for MSN so…there is really no use for me to use it. Even tho i stil have msn on my computer…but that’s only cuz my computer makes me have it…stupid thing lol

AIM sucks.
AIM with DeadAIM is OK to use.
MSN Is great.
MSN with Messenger Plus! is sweet.
Conclusion: Too many n00bies on AOL.
Solution: change to Broadband.

I havent used AIM for god knows how long, and I cany believe how ulgy its interface is. With AOL being ‘so big’ you would think they would fork out some extra cash to their design developers. i don’t like msn/yahoo because i have a grand total of 3 friends that use both. NOBODY i know uses ICQ, whereas I have 188 people on my AIM buddylist that I actually talk to– there’s no comparison. I’m willing to sacrafice beauty! :-p
To me it doesnt really matter what it looks like, who caes if it’s “ugly”? All I care about is that all my friends have it and I can talk to the on it.
I agree with colin. I don’t like the flashiness and large size of MSN and others. AIM’s simple box with little buddy picture is good enough for me (especially small if you use tabbing). I like that AIM is small cause I do a million other things online and stuff while sending messages. Yahoo is nice, but I just prefer AIM’s simplicity.
