No Problem, I understand what you are saying and you are right! I considered what Snugleupagainst said too! I know it’s not a Virus, but might have something to do with Yahoo and Attachments! I just want to make sure there is nothing wrong with this pc, i just bought it a short while ago, i still have my old one and the problem is on that pc too! I gave Yahoo Permission to go into my email (nothing important there anyway) to find out the problem and they seem to be stumped too. Do you think the Newsletter is delivering the Links in the wrong manner by mistake? Thanks TomMarch 3, 2003 at 9:26 am #64287rustedtightMemberOK starting here………..
Quote:quote: Hello Everyone: When my messenger says there is new mail and i go to it and i try to open up a link on a Newsletter, that was sent to me, instead of the link opening, i keep getting my Yahoo Sign on Screen, Here is one of the Newsletters with the links that was sent to me and by the way this happens to all my Newsletter Links.Quote:quote:Here is one of the Newsletters with the linksthere were no links there.
Quote:quote: i keep getting my Yahoo Sign on ScreenNaturally, its the only way you can read your emails sent to Y!.
First you must sign on to Y! email application, then open the emails contained in the inbox, from there you should (if they are provided) be able to activate links to included URL’s that are included in the emails. Is this how YOU do it?

Is this how YOU do it? Yes, but this has nothing to do with how i sign on, its about clicking on the Back Issue’s (link) to the Newsletter! Did you see the Back Issues links on the Newsletter and try to click on them and see what happens? After doing this i keep getting the Yahoo sign on screen!
March 7, 2003 at 12:28 pm #64302tomsbbbMemberI just received a Newsletter from “Windows-HelpNet” and when i clicked on any of there “In This Issue” Link”s. again i am getting the Yahoo Sign on Screen! There must be someone out there that is getting the same result and maybe they know why this is happening?
March 7, 2003 at 6:04 pm #64283Jeff HesterKeymasterThe Answer is Here!
The Good News
I’ve got the email and I understand the problem.
The Bad News
I don’t have a solution. 🙁The problem has to do with internal links, sometimes referred to as bookmarks. These can appear in any HTML page as a hyperlink, and click them simply jumps to another section on the same page.
The links in question usually appear near the top of the email, labeled as “In this Issue” or something similar. The format is Windows XP Update or similar. What Yahoo! Mail is doing is automatically prefixing the href parameter with a fully qualified URL. In this case, its replacing the href like this: Windows XP Update.
You’ll notice that the added URL will direct you to the login screen. I’m not sure how to fix this, but it appears to be a bug in the way Yahoo! is handling HTML email.
All is not lost, however. Because these links are internally referencing, they simply point to a different position on the same email. They do not link to external sites. If you simply scroll down and read the email, you don’t need those links at all! They’re only there to make it easier to “jump” to a specific section of the email.
So in the end, you’re really not missing much. If you turn on your status bar in IE, when you hover over the links, you’ll see where they point to before you click, so you might be able to save some time in the future.
March 7, 2003 at 8:39 pm #64301tomsbbbMemberJeff: I really want to Thank You, for diving into this and finding out what you did find out. I think I understand what you are saying now, Yahoo wrote me (something) about a HyperLink (or something) too! So I guess there is nothing they can do or they have a reason for this that they dont want to state. Anyway, i am glad it is not my pc. Thanks again, Tom
March 8, 2003 at 5:36 am #64291rustedtightMemberI knew it………… Yahoo mail sux.
Dont get me wrong….. I use it also.March 8, 2003 at 12:49 pm #64300tomsbbbMemberJeff: I just received 12 seperate emails (all at once) stating Rustedtight has replied to this post, but when i went to each reply thru yahoo email, there were NO replies from him at all! Is this a problem with Yahoo, because i dont believe its RustedTight is doing it> I got a reply from another forum and when that person emailed me, i had 7 emails stating that they were all from the one person too and only One was from them, the rest were Duplicate emails! I wanted ask Rustedtight if he has emailed a reply from this Post today? If not i guess there is something wrong with Yahoo Email Deliveries? Anyone else having this problem right now?
(NP Toms I fixed it ;))
March 9, 2003 at 5:45 am #64293snugleupagainstMemberAND Yes Toms the same happened to me. I get a notice about EVERY post on Yahoo Forum and got several saying Rusted posted to this But SHE had just posted once!
March 9, 2003 at 8:45 am #64282Jeff HesterKeymasterEach edit would be considered another post. So if she edited her topic several times, and you’ve subscribed to be notified when someone posts to this topic or forum, you’ll get a seperate email each time. Confusing? Yes, but an edit is essentially the same as a new post to a computer.
March 9, 2003 at 1:20 pm #64299tomsbbbMemberJeff: I really dont think that is causing it, I just got 18 replies from you for this one reply, As Snugleupagainst said to, that it is happening to him! There is something going on, I get alot of extra emails from some other forums to when there should only be one reply answer! But this forum seems to be the worst for it, i am trying to get a hold of Yahoo about this problem but they are not answering yet for some reason!
March 9, 2003 at 9:53 pm #64292snugleupagainstMemberJeff Rusted didn’t Edit her post, we just got abunch of emails for the same post.

Posted this reply just now, i got 8 Duplicate emails of it! This is happening with some other forums to, i wonder what is going on with Yahoo, my free email is filling up fast?March 12, 2003 at 5:49 am #64286rustedtightMemberQuote:quote: I knew it………… Yahoo mail sux.
Dont get me wrong….. I use it also.May I suggest you use another free email provider.
March 12, 2003 at 5:58 am #64281Jeff HesterKeymasterIt sounds like a Yahoo-specific problem. I use my own POP3 mail account, and I never receive duplicate “New Post” messages.
