KeymasterI just found a huge bug in Yahoo messenger. The bug is so bad I can not say what the bug is.
Edited – At first I thought it was a bug in version 8, but I tried to go back to version 7 to get ride of the bug i caused, but it is still there so that means its a problem with yahoo servers. One of my IMs is worthless now. The bug was never there before so yahoo must have updated there servers.
I will not say what the bug is, but that is has to do with adding friends to your list.

Thank goodness.
What a relief.
So – I can carry on using/enjoying my YM as I have done for 7 years – in blissful ignorance! 😉August 11, 2006 at 12:37 pm #150313Jeff Hester

KeymasterI got the bug created before on one of my IMs to go away. Later I will send hatedjealousy and Eagle_kiwi info on the bug and solution as I think they can be trusted not to use the bug. Before to long I am sure we will have posts about this bug.

MemberWell I (had) the newest version but I had a problem with sounds..like when a buddy came online and off. All the sounds were different and I couldn’t hear if someone came on or off. So I went back to v.8.0.0.683 Works fine now. Maybe I had the prob because Im using windows 98 and not xp who knows

MemberIf it’s a really bad bug, Yahoo might accually listen. Even though we know it probably won’t do any good, but still it’s worth a try.
hersshey, in 701 they changed the sounds.

MemberThey changed the sounds from 683 apparently.I HATE IT!:(

MemberI agree, these new sounds that came with 701 are ridiculous (so bad/meaningless I’ve now set all sounds to off 🙁 ).
But Hersshey – it’s same on XP as on your 98, I guess the original “knock-knock” etc lasted on all versions until this latest 701.

ParticipantYou could always put the old sounds back
They are named the same and just a matter of replacing them with the old ones in the Yahoo! folder.
But i agree in them being too low to even hear right.

MemberSomebody should Rapidshare the old sounds for us. 😉 I would, but I don’t really have the energy right now to uninstall and reinstall Yahoo. 🙁
EDIT: Ok, I got the sounds. Here you go.
RapidShare Webhosting + Webspace
Instructions:
Please extract this to C:Program FilesYahoo!MessengerMedia (Or whatever your default drive letter is).
Have fun.
EDIT 2: For the fun of it, here’s the new Yahoo sounds. Mix and match or something…
RapidShare Webhosting + Webspace
offficial link

Same instructions as above. 😉
