July 12, 2003 at 3:13 pm #95982rseq1MemberI have the same problem. Have you found a fix for it yet??? Thanks
July 12, 2003 at 6:42 pm #95975OreoMemberYou have to see if the phone is set up to accept Yahoo! text. If the phone is not compatible….it won’t work. Look in preferences and under configurations. Also you need to give more information. Does your phone have Yahoo! on it? Are you sending it to a phone outside of the USA???? There are many variables…so the more information (NOT PERSONAL….DON’T EVER GIVE PERSONAL INFO ON SOMETHING LIKE THIS…BUT INFO ABOUT YOUR SITUATION) you can give me the better! I try to help you from there.

The funny thing is that I get all my Yahoo alerts but when someone tries to send m e a sms from the messenger it displays the message Yahoo! “Yahoo! Messenger: This number has chosen not to receive any text messages.”August 19, 2003 at 6:27 pm #95980coolguyj2Memberwell ashish… Yahoo! has automatically done this to your number…
this is to protect spamming… If you dont reply to any message sent to you from Y! then Y! does this… This is in a way helpful and in a way bad also… I dont know how to enable this feature again… I think this is done after 3 unreplied messages…September 7, 2003 at 9:32 am #95978rite2ashishMemberhey people please address this issue to yahoo and if u know a solution please let me know
thanks everyone for your interest in my query

September 7, 2003 at 5:14 pm #95985carbonizeMemberA lot of service providers have blocked web based sms messages in an attempt to prvent spam / bombing. Your maybe one of these although this was mainly introduced by British service providers.
September 8, 2003 at 3:16 am #95974OreoMemberHey…I know this is a long shot and I have yet to find anything…but does anyone know how to send SMS to international numbers? To be more specific….to Spain…to a MoviStar cell?? Any help would be appreciated….I’ve exhausted my talents….I was thinking Yahoo! Spain….but…. Anyway…..all this SMS and cell messenger talk makes me wonder again about a separate Mobile messenger section…..
September 8, 2003 at 4:40 am #95984carbonizeMemberOreo you could try ICQ’s sms service or try Lycos as they do a free SMS service.
September 8, 2003 at 2:51 pm #95973OreoMemberICQ ones don’t make it to Spain…and I tried Lycos and I couldn’t tell how to send free ones. I think, that PC to SMS may be dead in Europe (at least for free). As with many other cellular issues…they are more advanced than we are here in the States. Thanks for the help Carbonize!
September 9, 2003 at 11:00 am #95983carbonizeMemberPah, I am in Europe and can send SMS from the net with no problem =op
With lycos it can be a pain in the arse I admit. ICQ should send to every country though.
I found a list of what sites to use to send SMS to different countries – http://fp.marknatalie.f9.co.uk/ff/smsportals1.htm you may find it useful.
