MemberSo yeah, it was Block Party Weekend here in Bloomsburg. Man, I have to tell you, I was ripped alllllll day, and now, at 4:07 pm the next day, I’m STILL hungover and feeling like crap. But it’s worth it.
I started drinking at 10 am Saturday, and I didn’t stop till 2 am on Sunday morning. Of course, I took breaks from drinking and all, but I was pretty much ripped all day long.
Drinking and feeling sick isn’t always fun, and it doesn’t have a good turn out. A group of my friends came up this weekend, and I got in a fight with one of them, and I just up and left. I turned off my phone so they couldn’t bother me, and I almost got arrested. That’s not cool. Luckily, my cousin found me wanderign the streets and got me back home.
Other than that, it was a fun weekend!

Sorry, just had to say that. Don’t take it personal please. You know I can’t stand it when people do something which they know is stupid and then do it again and again and again. ๐
And yes, you also know I don’t drink alcohol at all. It’s because of people like you. Inspires me to never ever resolve to alcohol to have some fun. ๐

MemberMaybe it’s time you get away from your computer and go out and have some other kind of fun, DJ.
Everyone has their own opinion of what is fun. I like to go out and bombed because when I graduate next year, I won’t have time to go out and do things like this, due to the fact that I aspire to work in corporate America.
I’m glad I inspire you not to drink. That’s good. More alcohol for me ๐

MemberThere. It’s wonderful that I can get such things off my tongue without you taking it personally. ๐
And why would I get away from my computer? It’s my way of having fun. And in all seriousness, it wouldn’t be wise to ‘go out’ into the ‘fun scene’ with my handicap. One direct hit (or otherwise bump) in the eye and I’m probably blind. Plus, I don’t see anything at all in the dark. Taking risks is fine with me, but I have my limits, of course. ๐

MemberRight, I stated that. We both have fun in different ways. That’s cool. Whatever, everyone is different.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not an alcoholic, I swear it. It’s just a lot of my most memorable and fun times involved alcohol. If you think I’m bad, you should see half this town. I’ve heard many stories about people going to the hospital and getting their stomache pumped with charcoal.
Trust me, I know my limits. I’m not totally stupid when intoxicated.
I think after I turn 21 and I realize I can drink anytime I want at the bar, I’ll calm down.
So shake off that image of “Rae is a boozehound.” It’s not like that. Honest.

Anyway, we’re getting a bit offtopic I think… ๐ฎ

ease up dude. that was a tad snappy. Anyway, I thought the majority of the world actually drank alcohol? *confused emoticon placed here*
Rae, sounded like good fun. Now you can always look back at this and laugh. Memories are such great things to have.
My brother was a tad drunk the other day, from a work do. He stumbled into some womans house at 5 in the morning thinking it was his house. Some funny stuff there, he started to walk out of the house and back home again. Half way there a police dog runs past him and then turns around and starts snarling. In the end he was brought home without charges.
We always manage to talk about it and laugh.

MemberThe reason I didn’t share my college drinking stories is that. yeah, they are funny…REALLY funny (and some REALLY STUPID and NOT funny) but I’m not in college anymore and you guys don’t know me that way. What Rae is talking about IS pretty calm for college and as long as she’s not jumping behind the wheel of a car and she’s keeping her druthers about her…GO GIRL! It’s true…once you get out into the real world…you cannot really do those things anymore (at least not do them and be successful). Granted there is probably a “wee” bit too much drinking in college, but that does not mean all college students are evil alcoholics. ๐

MemberIn 2000, there were 85,000 alcohol-related deaths in America, the third highest cause of death in the country (http://www.stopaddiction.com/narconon_alcohol_deaths.html). I honestly do not think that getting drunk is something to joke about, especially underage drinking. When drunk the first abilities that go are judgment, fine motor coordination, and reaction time. Now tell me that y’all know your limit. Once you are drunk, you cannot think clearly. What prevents you from driving while you are drunk? What prevents you from killing yourself or some innocent bystander?

MemberThis is what i don’t get. Have you been drunk before colin?
No offence but it sounds like you havn’t. If you drink in moderation and your not an idiot with a giant ego (and im guessing your not) then you should be alright.I’ve been drunk a pleanty of times and stopped myself driving. All my mates stop themselves, pretty much everyone i know has never been under the influence and in a car. I’ve had to walk from one side of town to my house before. Not that i minded at the time but i felt the burn the next day when i had cramped up legs ๐ haha.
People always get the wrong impression on drinking, im not promoting it, but some people just tend to think your totally out of control! and you don’t know what your doing. This will only happen if you get absolutly **** faced and drink, IMO, too much.

Away from windows where we can get sunburnt and die of skin cancer and away from taps where we can drown. There is an element of danger in everything Colin, some people will push it to its limits, others wont. For that reason, should everything with a fair element of danger be banned or frowned upon? Granted, 85 thou died but what about the millions who didnt?
What “Rae” does seems fine I guess? I’m younger and do similar however I don’t feel the need to post about it to strangers on the net. Whatever floats your boat i guess.

MemberI think moderate drinking, for the most part, is ok. It’s the people that take it to far that ruin it for others. The ones that only think they know their limit. I personally don’t see the appeal of drinking so much that you don’t know what happened, where you are, or how you got there; let alone waking up with a hangover the next day.
I know of a lady that is divorced, with 2 kids both under 5, that lost her license due to a DUI that has her 17 year old cousin drive her to the bar every Friday and Saturday from 8 pm to 2:30 am. Too me that doesn’t seem right.
And with underage drinking youโre breaking the law, that shows that your judgment was impaired before you even started to drink. I also don’t believe alcohol is required in order to have a good time. Yes it can help, but too many think “the fun don’t start until the beer gets here”.
As for me, trout season has started and I just bought a new Coleman lantern, I’ll spend the night fishing and not out drinking.April 26, 2005 at 5:24 pm #119511Kudo

MemberI’m sorry, but underage drinking is a big issue in EVERY country at EVERY school. That does’nt mean I have bad judgement. I knew exactly what I was doing. I chose to get drunk, knowing that I could get fined for underage. I almost got fined for having an open container, but the cop made a mistake and realized that my bottle was capped.
I don’t have to have a good time with alcohol. It just makes it better. ๐
PS: I never EVER get into my car and drive when I’m drinking, or have been drinking. Bars are on every corner in this town, i just walk back when I’m done. The same goes with when I go out to house parties or apartments.
There is something here at my school called the Drunk Bus. It runs from 10pm-3am thursday, friday, and saturday. A kid died here last year, he was walking home from the bar and he was hit by someone else drunk who was driving. So his parents pay for this bus to take students anywhere in bloomsburg they wish…a safer alternative to driving drunk, or walking home intoxicated.
So there! ๐
