You’ll get sick of owning American Idol real fast. Nothing but alsers and cyber whores go in there, and is almost always filled to 36 people in the 0 instance, even without porn bots.
BizkitMemberAlright, I was pointed to here by someone, and I have not read the entire topic, but let me first say that White is completely wrong about everything. Especially this part caught me:
Quote:AOL does not give a rats a if you can ban people from the room or not. It does not profit them to hire people and pay them money to moderate rooms on a free chat client. They do care, obviously, it shows that AOL has better features than AIM. People actually like to get AOL to own chats like that, as weird as it sounds.
Now as for the rest of White’s horribly mis-informed posts, AOL room owner tools do not use “exploits” to work. They do not use “exploited packets”, they take incoming packets and adjust the program accordingly. If one is to do a ban, it will send the packet back to the server as a ban packet with the screenname to ban, AS IF you hit the eject button anyway. So I don’t really see how that’s exploiting.
Now as unclever as White was, he posted a screenshot of a program that has no relevance to a AOL Room Owner Tool. Ironically, the program he posted is one of the very reasons why room owning is essential. Without room owning, how would bots get banned? It would be basically what the Exchange 5 chats turned into (even though you can own Ex5 chats now).
I will admit lots of room owners abuse their power, but without it, rooms would just be botted up all day, because little kids that know nothing but how to sign bots on will just fill up chats all day and sit in them.
