MemberWould anyone know why I can run ymulti gold with no problem but when I try to use the generic polygram I keep getting a ypager.exe error?
The actual error is as follows : File not found or File access error.
It happens on the beta versions and non-beta versions.
I am interested in running the generic because right now ymulti is not working with the new beta yahoo.
If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it .
Thanks!

MemberIts amazing to me… All of this technology , all of these ways to ” hack ” yahoo and to follow people and to add them without their knowledge but no one can come up with a way to find out who has added you so that you can remove them. NO one can come up with a way to have yahoo remember every id you have at login.
When are these people or programmers or yahoo ( even ) going to come up with something useful to people who just want to have a pleasant time on here and enjoy themselves without causing all this chaos and without stalking each other?

Tiger- about this death disc of love floppy disc.. is this something you made yourself or something someone can get or buy? I am interested in it . Sounds like aside from music that would be a security measure that one might consider for different occassions. How might one make or buy this disc you speak of ?
As for why she doesn’t pay the 99 cents for it.. the only answer I have is she is 13 and its impossible to tell a teenager anything. But I am the one who fixes her computer problems and I was/ am concerned with what she is doing on it . So that is why I asked.
And since you referred to the other article it only raises another question for me …. Since most computers come with the operating system installed on them already. How would one completely format without the original manufaturers discs?

MemberEEDOK wrote:well first off when you delete something on a PC it’s not really gone, the index is just changed to have a delete flag. In short if you know what you’re doing in DOS you can undelete files(there’s even gui tools to do this). As for how do you browse unshared files, well have you ever read the TOS of your favorite p2p client?Well I have yahoo messenger and msn messenger and windows media player.. If you mean these are p2p.. I have skimmed their tos yes.. but I guess I meant this.. My sister n law has bearshare.. They pay a price each year for their subscription.. Is she doing anything illegal? Meaning since she is paying for that is she breaking the law by downloading songs?

MemberYahoo still hasn’t fixed this security issue. It is still possible for someone to message you , you put them on ignore and then if they add you to their messenger. It accepts it without you being the wiser. They are able to see what you are doing, where you are, and your status.
Since this is the case , I am having a hard time trying to understand the whole point of ignore if it doesn’t even work!

MemberThe way to stop them from sending you a million invites in a yahoo game room is when you enter the room in the bottom left hand corner click on options , check decline ALL invites. When they try to boot you by sending a million invites all they will get is ” I’m sorry but * so and so * is not accepting invites at this time.
Yes, it blocks you from getting other invites but if someone wants to play you badly enough they will find you or message you . ( it has happened to me a million times )

MemberIf all else fails jc457 you could try something called emessenger. With emessenger, you do not have to download anything . You are able to access yahoo, aol & msn through your browser. If you don’t mind not having all the added features of the full download of yahoo messenger. You said you had to download the minimum anyway so it might be worth a try and it won’t slow anything down ( at least it didn’t for me )

You might try one more thing. There are times when NIS becomes very picky and for some reason won’t allow my profiles to be seen ( if you have norton firewall , use the web assistant . If block popups are checked you might try unchecking it and allowing them. )You might try this if you feel comfortable with it . Hope it helps a little.

MemberYou’re very welcome ys8er2323. Glad I could help.

Memberys8er2323,
Try this, Go to tools , manage add ons look for programs currently enabled in internet explorer. See if the web assistant is disabled or enabled.
If it is disabled enable it and click apply. Then go back to view and under toolbars you should see web-assistant put a check mark beside it if there isn’t one. It should then appear on your toolbars. ( I hope this helps, it worked for me )

MemberRabidKitten wrote:That’s the problem with a lot of these “help me” threads. People don’t provide a ton of information, others try and help them and they get upset! It’s understandable that you’re frustrated, but that is -not- an excuse to treat someone who is trying to help you like that.Even if not particularly what you’re looking for, an attempt at help should always be met with nothing but thanks and gratitude…
First of all, I did not consider my answer rude or arrogant.Carriemeawayplz wrote:I realize that . I was using safe mode to clean spyware off of my system that has rooted itself into my registry and startup programs. Now, would anyone else have something helpful to offer? (As you can see I simply answered him back and asked if anyone else had anything to offer. (Personally, I do not see anything wrong with my reply.)
And if you would have followed the whole entire thread you would have noticed that I did say Thank you to all that helped. I do not think I would/ or ever could be solely responsible for ruining ” free help for every one ” that is being a tad dramatic, dontcha think ?

Note : This topic is NOT about whether or NOT You think I was rude to DJ .
Can a moderator get it back on track please?

MemberThe program I was trying to use is Counterspy. Pc world recommended it as a spyware catcher. Pc world said that Counterspy worked great at catching spyware that NIS and Ad-aware and spybot didn’t catch . And they were right. I used it on another computer in safe mode and it worked perfectly at clearing out the crap that couldn’t be deleted in regular mode.
So when I tried it on the 2nd pc in safe mode it wouldn’t even start but it worked great when started regularly ..
I understand what you are saying about the icons and safe mode marcy and I already tried that before I asked in here( guess I wasn’t wrong after all lol) BUT when I try to view the programs in safe mode it always says to make things smaller or delete some from the start up ( which I tried that too ) and once again it was still the same.
Thought I ‘d ask you guys and see if you had any other solutions. Guess I’m just stuck. But thanks for trying. I appreciate the help!

MemberFirefoxMan wrote:Radio Disney is all! Wow… Your kids are getting to the age where RadioDisney definitely won’t sit well with them… so if you want to keep them tuned into that radio station only… get ready for some serious arguments!Foxfire, My daughter was allowed to listen to other music and to MTV believe it or not . Then I sat down with her and saw the latest Brittney Spears video where she portraying a teenager who was committing suicide in the bathtub.( call me crazy but I feel she doesn’t need that kind of influence) I also read some of the lyrics she brought home from school that the ” music teacher ” thought <– yes THOUGHT was going to be sung by the 7th graders in the spring concert .
Example : Quakin and vibratin your thighs ridin harder than guys.
Just didn’t sit well with me or other parents at the school. But amazingly before I complained the other parents set the teacher straight.
My daughter did get a little upset until she found out that the artists like Lindsey lohan, Raven, Kelly Clarkson ( so on and so forth ) had songs being played on it. She couldn’t believe that although they have clean versions on Radio Disney that they are songs by artists that she does like. It isn’t like kids bop where the kids are singing the songs. Its the actual recording artists themselves. I like country music myself BUT some of them are a little suggestive too. You may think I’m being harsh but I feel since her teenage years are so impressionable that if I help her out now she might not be so likely to get into trouble. Yes, I pay attention to what she hears and what she sees. I call it being a responsible parent.
So far no fights. But then I’m lucky, She is straight A’s and we just found out she is already being chosen for scholarships( plus it helps that she is only 12 ) so ( problems? ) bring them on . I am ready! lol

MemberTigerblade wrote:carrie’s suggestion was also good… those artists are generally pretty good and mostly clean (keyword is mostly, not entirely).Well, I know for a fact tiger that the ” songs ” by those artists that are played on Radio disney( tv & radio stations) would not play them if they have anything suggestive in it. Disney Mania 3 has some choice songs from the artists that I named in my earlier comment that are sung by the original artists and are very age appropriate.
I would also suggest artists like Los Lonely boys( How far is heaven) Stephen Curtis Chapman ( live out loud ) Josh Groben ( You Raise me up) Amy Grant has many Christian songs .
I hope all of these suggestions have helped you a little.
