I found that mine was set to manual instead of automatic. Started the service and ran the install and it worked. To check, goto Start –> Settings –> Control Panel, Click on Administrative tools, then find and click on Services.. Then look for Windows Installer, which will be way down the list as it’s in Alphabetical Order. Make sure the service is running, if not, RIGHT click on it and choose Start, you might also want to change it to start Automatically to avoid problems like this in the future. Please note that I did do the msiexec /unregister and msiexec /regserver thing before finding this.
I tried this solution, but when I tried starting my Windows Installer service I got the following error message:
Quote:quote:Could not start the Windows Installer service on local computer.
Error 109: The pipe has been ended.Anyone know how to fix this? I’ve already tried every other solution here. Thanks in advance!
