It’s an onboard sound card, unfortunately. I’ll try re-installing the drivers though.
Another thing that happens, and I’m not sure if it’s related or not, but the D key keeps malfunctioning on my keyboard when I’m playing online games. So much so that I’ve been forced to unmap the key. Strange stuff. And no my pc is not infected with a virus.
Hmmmm well I’ve got 512mb memory and it’s been fine for 3 years, it’s only recently that the problem has been happening. Doesn’t seem very likely to me.
Just to be sure though I checked Task Manager and it reported:

Available: 293736
System Cache: 108424Funny thing is I used the software utility cleaner before and it didn’t work. This time it did though. The colour printing is still streaky on the test print though, but I don’t use colour printing much.

Well ok Dermot we’ll give that a go. That still doesn’t explain why it also crashes at my end though.
I don’t know what else I can explain. All we’re doing is sitting chatting then the cam windows shut themselves down and Messenger goes back to the login screen. It signs itself back in again then we have to restart the cams.
Yes it will often work for ages then crash with no explanation. It happens on my side, and hers.
I’m using Win XP Professional Service Pack 2. Yahoo Messenger v8.0. Webcam is Packard Bell PB-WC100.
She’s using Win XP Professional Service Pack 2. Yahoo Beta 360 degrees. Webcam is A4Tech PK-336MB.
Thanks I’ll give it a go. Will that fix the webcam problem and all the other problems I have with it too?
