MemberGillinghamfan,
I’d first suggest redownloading the installation package, try the installation process again, if you get the error code 1603 then refer to this thread for solutions
If not, try searching the MSN Messenger forums for relative issues regarding this topic, and see if anything relates to your problem.

Memberhey miluska, and welcome to BigBlueBall!
This is a common error code and a separate thread has been made for people like you to discuss their problem and hopefuly have someone provide an answer. To view this thread, please click here.
Also, for future reference, please try to have descriptive thread titles instead of “I need help” or something similar to that. Having descriptive thread title allows you to catch peoples attention better. No worries though, and hopefully we can figure this problem out for you! Good Luck!

Memberhey dgagnon3201,
You say you know how to remove the individual email addresses, well, I believe you need to remove the Passport.Net* from the list and instead of just the individual addresses.
An easy way to do this: (type in red text)
Start > Run > control userpasswords2 > Advanced (tab) > Manage Passwords > “remove desired addresses, which in this case will be Passport.Net*”
Hopefully that was clear and made sense. And I think it should do what you ask.

MemberHi Kaye,
This question is covered in the FAQ’s thread by DJHyperbyte as well as this thread that you started on your very own!!:p:
“MSN signing in without me entering password“.This is what is within the FAQ’s page (just so you don’t have to go fishing around for the answers in either of those two areas;))
Quote:quote:Q: A few people have signed into MSN Messenger from my computer. How do I remove their email addresses from the sign-in list?
A: Go to ‘Control Panel’ and choose for ‘Users’. Click on your Windows XP username and then go to ‘Manage my network passwords’. Here you can simply delete the MSN login history.Good Luck!:)

MemberDoes your friend have a firewall enabled which would not allow a connection? Has he simply tried re-installing?
fiebs101
MemberOne idea is to view the contacts profile. That’s all I can think of off hand, sorry lol i’m off to bed.

MemberOne of your best bets to find a patch or plugin that does what you want would be found at Mess.be. I know they just announced recently about a new patch created with many features and that was one of the features included, however, it was for MSN Messenger 7.0.0205 BETA. Just a suggestion.

Membermcwarman,
Welcome to BigBlueBall! We hope that we will be able to help you quickly, yet effectively! 🙂
Now, in order for us to help you, you need to also help us. Could you possibly give us more details of the problem? Understanding that you just installed a wireless network at your house, does MSN Messenger give an error message or error number when you try to sign in, possibly saying it does not detect an internet connection? Do you have any firewalls we should also know about? The more information we know, the easier it is for us to help you! Thanks and hopefully we can figure this out! 😉

MemberprinceG,
Instead of downloading a whole different IM client for MSN, you can just download a plugin which has the feature you asked for and more[/b]! You could have possibly have heard of this plugin, the StuffPlug-NG which i, myself, find very handy.
Please note that if you decide to download this plugin, you will need to get a validation key from the StuffPlug website or you will not be able to sucessfully install the plugin.

Membertwlee,
did you by chance, when re-adding the contact to your list, make sure that he/she was NOT on your block list. Make sure the contact is not in your block list when adding him/her.
