Unfortunately I am not sure how to find out about FIREWALLs. However would that effect AOL instant messenger too? The only thing I know I have on my PC is the NORTON ANTIVIRUS PROGRAM.
We are having same problems but on both pcs. We have optimum online and use a linksys router B to connect our two computers. However we can get on Optimum Online and surf the net regularly with our Internet Browswer. The problem is the same as poster. We can not always connect to AOL INSTANT MESSENGER. Sometimes we have to try over and over by clicking log on and we will get on. The funny thing is that IF we do get on, it shows the buddy list but AIM Today comes up as a blank screen. This happens on both of the PCs. Like I said it happens IF we can get connected. I tried to uninstall, reinstall to no avail. Off the subject a bit, if I am on optimum online through IE I can get onto any site but if I put in http://www.aol.com it will not bring up. Any help would be appreciated.
