i have the same problem and changing the port has not helped at all. I dont even run my pc through a router! the only thing that seems to work is connecting with them directly…but its very annoying. ive had a new pc for about 2 weeks and just recently AIM has been acting up. I dont think it has anything to do with XP cuz on my last pc I had XP and it worked just fine.
today aim is actually sending it but until the little beep noise sounds, everything else is frozen. just cant win with this damn thing!
evidently I do not have a router-oops. I thought a router was actually a splitter. time warner used one jack to connect us to both cable tv and to road runner. 🙁
sorry about that mix up…what else do you think the problem may be?
